Are Ski Camps Worth it?

yeah, it all depends how hard u push yourself.. i went to windells two years ago and my skiing improved so much, well the rails and jumps and pipe...

yes it is completely worth it. i have never actually been myself but of my friends that have went they now have so much more confidence and are so much better. you have to go out there ready to try and push yourself. and if your going to a camp i have had friends that have gone to windells high north and momentum and they all said it was sick. i would recommend whistler tho

I never went but then again I never had a problem hucking to learn new shit. I think the atmosphere is conducive to trying new shit but I mean honestly can you really tell someone how to do a Sw Rodeo 9? all tricks are something you just need to try and practice, it's that simple. If you are really scared to try new shit save your money and take a week long jump course in park city at the water ramps, I promise you'll learn more and it will be safer. The snow still hurts in ski camp you just cant land on your head and get away with it. "Wow tanner just told me how to do a switch cork 10 mute that was a great explaination I think I can throw one now"

well i do push myself but all iseem to do is fuck myself up like rite now im in a cast cuz broke two bones in my wrist from skiing

also this was my first year of freeskiing i mean i ve been skiing for awhile now but this was the first year of doing shit in the park as well as my first year on twins i mean i learned everything... how togrind boxes and rails sw on to boxes and rails and my best spin this year was a switch 3 safety grab so what do u guys think of that season? Plz feel free to critisize

thats pretty good to be doing switch stuff but you would definetly get a lot better at camp if you have the coin go for it but if you want to wait a year and get a little better and then go to camp you could do that

but from what i hear, the camps arent just about skiing. Like you ski and progress all day and party hard all night. Its an entire experience, not just extra skiing in the summer.

you will get A LOT better

you will go from doing 540's to throwing down switch cork 1620's and switch triple backflips

Yea, definately. Last year I was just getting into it and I was pretty bad. I got 360's both ways with ugly quick tap grabs and switch onto boxes and stuff. I learned a lot and I kept working at it and i've got safety 3's down all 4 ways + 270's onto boxes. Doing water ramps this year + going back to momentum. Gonna learn a shitload. If you're gonna go to camp definately start up with weights, running, tramp, and stretching for atleast a month before you go.

i wanna go to Camp of Champs sooo bad but i just dont have the cash, and my parents wont wanna pay for it. Damn, if only my summer job payed more. I guess i'll have to progress thru the winter. And yah, i wanted to go to all the parties and shit too, havent partied hard in a long time

yes, come to the big easy in alaska, real sick. best camp for your money hands down, way cheaper than the rest.

how many days did you ski?

Im at about the same level as you for 2 years of park skiing minus the switch 3, but i can do switch ups. Anyways, I never get to ski, so that's why Im not as good as I want to be.

its my first year skiing and i can cork 3.. 7 grab slow 3's,, 540,, switch 540,...270 on rails and off switch on rails, do think i did ok for my first year ever skiing and im going to high north will it help alot

I'd love to get to a ski camp this summer but I just can't afford it. Does anyone know of a cheaper camp or program?

For your first year of park skiing, cork 3's, 7's, and sw 5's is pretty progressive i'd say.

Look for nipples at COC he is 12 maybe you guys could switch jackets or something and poach each others camps :)

and yes i think ski camp are worth it cause if i can learn alll the park skillls in one year teaching myself imagin going to camp with pros and skiera allla round you youll get so goo as long as you commit and try stuff my first day of skiing i tried a front flip

they are super fun and the whole whistler expirience is awesome. but as far as progression u have to be ready to try crap, and u have to make the effort to talk to coaches and what not.

man im not cocky at all i think im the only skier at my mountain that isnt and im just trying to prove my point that he should go to a ski camp cause helll learn lots and he is surround by skiers what else coyld u ask for and i was asking if the people at high north well care if i ski with them cause im use to skiing with 15 year old cause when i watch people that are good i learn how i do it.. and if u think im some cocky 12 year old im not

ya one problem i sold my video camera so i could buy my skis and bindings,il try to get one this year and il have footage next year

i gotta boarder friend who went to camp of champs, hes so much more fearless now, making him better. i might go next summer cuz i need to save hte $

uhhhhh.. if you are not cocky, then you are extremely ballsy and talented or just maybe... dumb..

Throwing your first flip on your first day at camp? There are hundreds of stories of kids who never got to experience the rest of camp week because of antics like that. Be smart...

its pretty much true lol there was a jump into powder and i learnd one then the powder went away and i could still do it

dude here's the deal if you just ski with a bunch of really good kids that will push you and help you push yourself its the same thing except free
