Are 'S' Rails Stupid?

Does the mountain you ski at have an 'S' rail or box?

Do you enjoy hitting it? Or if you are a beginner do you enjoy just the occasional session when you get the balls to do it?

i like doing it because i think it is fun to lean into it, and you can spin really hard out of it

I really like when I greese an s rail it makes all the times you bail super hard worth it. I've ridden at smuggs for the past few seasons, they have a mellow s box which is fun to ride. There a ton of combinations which can be done on it with out the serious bails of s rails. But I still really like s rails.

i love s rails... when i can grease them. unfortunately i can only do that like 1 in 4 times. one of the highlights from last season was an s rail to 270 off, i just felt so comfortable at the end of it i was like, i'm gonna 270 out of this shit. felt good.

their awesome, unless of course...you cant do them. The on at high north is always sick. Okemo mt in vt has one but they never set it up

i love s rails. especially when there is a little bit of straigt between curves so u can do switchups.

they got an 80 footer at cascade mountain (wisconsin) its pretty sick but its soo hard! if you grease it on film you get a free season pass

I tried one last year at big white and caught an edge and hit my leg on the thigh bone and they look really cool

from a summer study at mt. hood i found out that americans love s-rails and canadians can't slide them.

S-boxes are more fun in my opinion. Actually more fun for my skill level would be the better way to say it. Im scared of s-rails now, bad times.

i got a blood clot because of an s box...but thats not to say i hate em, i still plan on doing many a sesh on them.

hey i was somewhat sober.

my advice...dont try s rails or s boxes drunk, guarantee you will get pwned

yea my mountain has a nice mellow one and it slides soooo well so s rails that are well built and maintained are nice

that sounds like me and the big one at keystone. stupid s-rail. their small one is super fun though, got that one first try.

They're alright. However, if a park isn't developed with a solid selection of flats, downs, ups, and flat downs, along with some boxes, it isn't right. I don't like when parks try to jump to the techy rails and skip the basic stuff you need to develop a nice, flowing park.

So yeah, if used and implemented correctly.

i broke my collar bone on one...but yeah they are a lot of fun once you learn how to slide them

S rails are sooooo dope. how can you hate on somethin that sick? S boxes on the other hand are dumb, cause you making it is ENTIRELY dependant on the box being well designed, as well as nailing your speed perfect. with rails, you just gotta be in the ball park, but can bank harder if need be.

No, you can only get the pass. I only know of 4 people who have done it, I'm sure there are a few more. It's huge.

only s box, and it is way sick

this one day my little buddy that I ski with who rips kept nailing it all day and we were in the locker room and he was like "I can't not make the S today"...it was hilarious.

Keystone has 2 glorious s rails. One is pretty easy the other one i can get about 1 out of 5 tries.

I like them because I can slide just about any rail but I dont have very many variation tricks so it makes me feel cool.

never slid one perfectly but i eat it alot on the box!! i mean i never lean into it. i know that to. each time is the same thing and i dont tell my slef to lean i just wreck in the smae spot....

k new goal for this season - conquer the S and 27 out,.
