Are rollerblades good practice during the off season?

I was only able to get out 9 days this year before getting injured, was hoping that by rollerblading in the summer i could maybe get back up to speed. Thoughts?

yes and it’s super easy, two pieces of wood in a long pyramid, put a pvc rail on top, you can learn just about anything. i actually moved away from just doing ski slides and have rollerbladed more for the sake of rollerblading, definitely worth trying out

They for sure help and are fun to rip around the skatepark with as you can do spins, handplants, ride switch and obvs hit rails and ledges on- but holy guacamole rollerblades want to kill you so badly. Look up Danny Beer on Youtube tho for some inspo.

Been blading for 5 years now and its the only thing that keeps me sane in the summer. Please start blading you wont regret it

Hijacking the thread to ask: i want to start blading. i am used to skiing and on skis i can lean forward and the skis stop me from tipping over forwards. Will falling over forwards be a problem for a beginner blader or do you get used to it quick?

TBH yes, it's insanely hard to transition from skiing to blading. It's worth it 100% to learn but you will definitely struggle in the beginning so dont get discouraged. Rails are way harder too, can't zeech grinds on blades.

yea was mostly thinking of switch landings. I have to get a pair this summer!

What blades to get tho. Is the fit super important like ski boots? The blades I’ve tried at Woodward barn hurt tf out of my feet
