Well, I'm saying no to this thread, because rails are fucking sweet.
HOWEVER..... back in the early nineties I was shredding the fuck out of all kinds of terrain on my skinny ass 207's, and so were many of newschool skiings pioneers. It's due to that type of experience that people like Mike D can still show up all the younguns at events like the back 9.
Respect the roots buddy. Back then skiing skills counted for a lot more than they do now among lots of kids.
I love park and rails, but it's absolutely astounding how many kids can nail switch 9s and spin onto rails but cannot ski for shit. Many don't stand a chance in mountain terrain keeping up with the "gappers" from the nineties for whom being a good skier was just as important as what kind of tricks you can do.
