Are prophets worth it?

I mostly ski offgroom terrian and i hike alot... I normally ski my scratch bcs because they are great in allmost every condition... those days when the snow sucks and u cant go off the groom i ski on an old pair of 1080s... i want to get an huge pow ski and i was thinking i should get the prophet 130s becuase unlike the spatulas, pontoons, and swallowtails they are exactly like a normal ski, just huge...

I cant find places that demo them so i would just have to buy them and hope for the best... I can find them on froogle for like 450-600 but dropping that much cash on a ski i can only use in the best conditions scares me.

SO... someone that has rode them or owns them tell me! Is it worth it? can u use these skis on snow that isnt powder? and how is the stiffness, weight, and all that stuff?

if u can find a place to demo them or to buy for cheeper then 450 tell me!
 
i've heard the 100's are kickass all mountain sticks. plus they're still versatile in conditions less fortunate than 400 feet of fresh.
 
The 130's are freight trains bro if you're a solid skier there is no better ski. If you ski mainly offtrail they're good for %80 of your days don't let anyone tell you otherwise. I have about 12 days on them on everthing from blower to gnar chunks they're solid and really fast. Plus they make 8 inches feel bottomless so you can huck cliffs when your buddies are hitting the crust undernneath :)
 
think of all the pussy youll get, no but for real, id buy them for super deep powder days if i had the money
 
i am confused. meal on deals for me? it says that only 100 were made, in that link, and i was just wondering if that was true?
 
um, they made a limited number the first year they went into production, but the is no longer the case. last year they were in full production.
 
you're godamn right they kickass! they handle like a dream in all conditions although i loved them in powder... great for charging! i'm selling a brand new pair of 100's if anyones interested.
 
In lots of reviews people have said that the prophet 130s handle just fine on groomers. They just plow through most stuff and also they'll mosdef kill in powder. Plus you'll look cool with some super fat skis. I think they're $450 on twintipnation.com
 
they ski like a water ski, remember they weight alot and are 186's... if you can handle that then fuck yeah, my buddy rides them in he park.. he can BS switch up no problem, fun to watch. i had fun on them for sure, and im 5'10 145 but a strong skier.
 
yea im 6foot lanky 155 but i use my waterpolo legs to ski strong and agressive so the weight and size prolly wont be an issue... its just... do i need them if i have scratch bcs?

this is me riding prophet 130's in the pipe. they're not the greatest, but it's still possible. buy them, and buy them from jibij, josh still has a pair hanging on the wall. they're so sick
