Are my Chronics toast? Pics inside...

Well, I was just gathering up my gear to head out, and lo and behold what do I see? Busted edges. Now I have never had this happen to me. My guess is that it happened on a sketchy rail, but I'm not sure.

Is this kind of damage fixable? I really love these skis (05 Chronics), so I'd hate to have to toss them.

If it is fixable, then what is the next step? Ski shop or send them back to Line?

shit happens. No warranty will cover it. And if you hit rails you can't expect to have your skis stay in good shape. and that kid wasn't being ignorant... i agree with him. I have no edges and I still ski the whole mountain. it's harder, but you can do it.
 
that is where you are wrong sir. edges are not necessary, they merely hinder the park experience.
 
So is this repairable? I ski everywhere. Steeps/Park/Groomers so I would like 100% of my edges to be intact. Its either I repair them or I buy some K2 Seths or 07/08 Chronics
 
I've seen edges busted like that be cut, re-applied and epoxied, they held up for another season. I dunno if that is an option for you tho, thats a pretty big blowout. Honestly, id cut it, grind it so nothing stick out, and throw some P-Tex or wood glue in the hole to keep water out. Chances are the rest of your edges will hold up if you dont slay rails daily for 10 hours, and they wont be very noticeable unless your skiing realll hardpack or ice. Hope that helps

yo i feel ya, i have some 05 chronics that are slowly becoming lesss and less usable and i love them!!! i would say save up for the 09's they are looking too sick, actually one of my favorite ski designs eve.
 
Do you have pics of the 09 Chronics? Or do you know where I can find any? All I can find now is the 07/08 swooping raven on the orange backdrop
 
Um, if you don't have a park, or even if you do, it's not convenient to ski the whole mountain without edges. Simply because carving on ice going fast in crud, holding an EDGE in a turn, carving in general, etc. is difficult without EDGES.

I'm pretty sure these are out of warranty. I got them on release, which is 2 1/2 seasons ago. No doubt Line does not guarantee rail damage.

About these 09 Chronics someone mentioned...Did you mean the 08 series? I cannot seem to find any info on a 09 model.
 
It is repairable, but its going to cost alot. Just cut it out and epoxy it. Its not like its a foot of edge
 
my recomendation is to keep them and just use them solely for park and then buy a new pair of skis and use those as your all mountain ski. for park you dont really need edges... its actually better for rails not to have great edges so use the 05 chronics for your park.
 
you are an idiot. first, chronics are all mountain skis. second, maybe he lives in the east and can't avoid ice all the time. i ski park, but i'm not ignorant enought to think that that's all skiing has to offer. edges aren't dumb, you are.
 
I'd bet if you contacted Line and told them about it, you'd at least get a discount on some new skis. I've heard they take care of their customers.

i cant imagine skiing anoythign other than park without edges. I appreciate my turns.
 
i dont know where you ski but at my mountain i ski everything; pow, moguls, groomers, park, etc.. on skis that have shitty edges/ missing edges and i can handle it fine.
 
right on the homepage of NS in the video box...... select the one about Line and click play it covers ALL the 09 skis and discusses the chronic

I'm fucking korean, and garunteed bigger than you and would love to stomp your fucking face in with my tecnicas. Swear to god you don't think I won't come to my place and see what happens. In the best interests of your dental and health plans I would stay way clear of east coast.
 
^^ as well, check the SIA update for day 2, they have pics of all the lines in good resolution so you can get a good look at them

Like you barely are taller than the average height of a chinaman. hell Asian allen might just be taller than you. But to be FOR REAL..... I will throw you off of a lift if I were to ever see you.
