Are kangaroo flips overrated

not at all. your just a wannabe so what do you know. sometimes i think it is ridiculous if they look like shit but i think they are a pretty sick trick. but people need to start doing them with a different grab, i have only seen andreas throw it with a mute and every other kangaroo was with a japan.
 
Nope definitely not. I was gonna say something smart ass like "Since you can't do them, then no." But I've decided against it since I can't do one either and I guess it doesn't really matter.
 
Personally I think there sick, and I will never have balls big enough to even attempt one. Then again I haven't ridden park that much for the past two years. It's much difficult to throw these tricks when you ski the back. I would love to throw one once in my life, but in this lifetime it will never happen.

However, Never say never. ahaha
 
maybe a bit played out true, but they're fun. isn;t it all about the fun? hope some day i can land one, that would be really fun for me! props to do whatever trick is fun to you
 
Nope! Hard trick. just because it's 2 years old and more folks are doing them dosent make the kango overrated. And the trick has progressed into all kind of other variations.
 
great thread. I think the fact the jon still won comps last year with the same flip he learned like 2-3 years ago isn't right. I think jacob wester and jossi are movin in the right direction by adding extra rotation and difficulty to the overused kangaroo. It's not an easy trick, but i think jon has worn it out, and that's why he's been workin on the dj flip, because he knows it's overused. I don't want to see the kangaroo win any big comps like us open or xgames anymore unless it's jacob wester style. Like cosco and schiller can do them, but wester gets the mute in there and holds it the entire time.
 
yes they are, people just need to throw new variations in to em and they wouldnt be so bad but there all the same

i know, the trick is hard as fuck and i don't think i'll ever even try it on snow, but i'm just sayin skiers like jon and the best skiers in the world need to progress from where they've come because that trick is behind them. It's a legit trick for everyone who's not elite, i just wanna see the best in the world do it jacob style because everyone knows they can

Actually your not quite right... That is Jacob is the blue, but he's doing a double cork 12 mute, and not a kangaroo...
 
they are definitely not overrated, but a lot of people do them so it would seem that way. double flips are tough, but more and more people are starting to do them
 
yeah, that's what i mean. He has innovated the kangaroo into something sicker, but ur right i did forget to call it by the correct name-dub cork 12. Double corks are the future, get on the shit G, one up him and make it a 1440, if u haven't already, which i wouldn't doubt.
 
no they are simply overused, but they are not overrated, because they are a very hard trick to do, I personally cant do them on skis, but on the trampoline they are definetly one of the hardest tricks to do.
 
the only way that a double flip would be cool would be if they start doing them unnatural and putting some double grabs in them, double flip are not the future of skiing
 
dub corks are, the spins are only going to get bigger, grabs are going to get harder-like i wouldn't be surprised in like 5 years if i heard about someone throwin down a dub cork 12 octo as crazy as that shit sounds, ur right that would be sooo sick, and that's where double flips are goin
 
i can definatly say that i see alot of people doing them but they look really cool and i don't have a problem with them
 
They're an extremely difficult and impressive trick, but we've seen them so many times with no variation they get a little boring.

They'd look sick with a truck I must say.
 
o, i have a question, why is jacob wester not a pro on the armada team, just an am? seems kinda weird cause he's really good.
 
armada is super specific about who is on the pro team. look at the list, everyone but tj has been there since the beginning, and tj was discovered by jp himself. jacob is at their level, but wasn't one of the founding fathers, and correct me if im wrong but i dont think he takes a managerial position with the team
 
first of all double flips and double corks are the exact same thing both, they both look really ugly, and their not the future of the sport, if you want to see the future of the sport just look at PK, 720 to cork 540 that's the sickest shit ever, its not a double cork, its a spin to a cork, its the sickest shit ever and he's the only one doing it and he puts an high mute in it
 
i agree, pk's grabs are the steeziest things out there, but skiing has two sides to it, the tech side and the style side, like jon and pk, one is tech and the other has a bunch of style-skiing needs both, jon needed the double flip to help him progress, that's just the way he does it. The best thing would be of someone could combine steez and technical skiing, like a dub cork pk tweak or something. But i think skiing needs both, whether you think tech looks shitty or not.
 
obviously, and thanks to the progress rider las andreas and jacob are doing with new tweaks and spins, grabs and style the double flips, that;s all about keep progresing and trying to have their own style! mike clarke;s are sick too!
 
yeah, shit, just because its the most common double doesnt make it played. the fact that it hasnt been done with a bunch of grabs just shows that it is still in its infancy, on the way to becoming a solid slope trick...i mean this is like saying.."spinning both ways is played" or "360's are overrated"...its a dope ass double that will be invilved in winning comps for many years to come.
