Are Kangaroo flips out of style/overused

I personaly think that considering this trick has exited for a while and that it really isnt something new its way over used. I know that its Jon's signature trick but I still think its getting old. I would way rather see him tryig a switch 1080 with a double grab or something. That in my mind would be sick. I dont mind it when say Jon or Jacob Wester does one in a comp but did Jon really need to throw the kangaroo flip for all three of his runs to win icer air? The answer is no.

I think that they are not as spectacluar now that Jon isnt the only one that can do them but yet he still olyl does them. I want to see more variety

if i was another pro skier i would be really annoyed by jon throwing the exact same trick all the time to win...imo i dont think it looks all that great even though it is super tech

i see more guys doing 720s and then kangaroo flips, does that mean 720s are played? oh wait, yes its defiantly not cool anymore to do double flat spin 5's

No way, kangaroo flips are the way to go. I mean, I was thinking the same thing as you, until at Icer Air I saw it live. When you see it live, its a whole different experience. It looks way better than anything anybody was throwing that night, cork 12s, sw cork 10s, and even mike riddle's amazing looking super-slow sw7 high mute. Seeing it live makes it obvious why Jon should win with it every time.

Out of style? No. Overused? Maybe. They are sick. But its kinda lame when you see so many people doing kangaroos. Just not my favorite trick. Kinda reminds me of how Tanner used to win with switch Rodeo 7.

personally i like double flips because they are so hard to do but the last thing that i want to happen is turn our sport into aerials. but i dont like the kangaroo flips because so many people can do them and it has been around for like almost 2 years now

did jon needed to throw 3 of them to win icer air???

YES

he didnt land the frist two as clean as he needed to win the comp, and then stuck it to perfection on his final attempt and won the comp.

^^ya i must agree, they are nothing like aerials. i just kinda don't think they look all that great, thoguh ive never seen it in person. still, its a crazy ass trick that i respect

your screen name is power slave. remind me who the queer is? that signature isn't helping either. it sounds like something larry craig would say when he cruises dudes.

the hexo flip or something like that is a sw double flip that Jon made up it's soo sick

but why doesn't Jon do any of his other double flips? he probably doesn't have enough time off of the icer air jump maybe?

yea kangaroo is played but the cork 1080 that turns into a kangaroo flip halfay through that he was workin on at camp of champions over the summer is gonna push the envelope again

Style is personal. If Jon likes them then he can keep them up. They will not be played until everyone and there mother can do them. right now there fresh cause there still on the for front of what is new and pushing the sport. Personally I dont like them but thats cause im not into tech. thats style for you

honestly just hearing the word "kangaroo flip" is hilarious. YA CLAIMING TRICKS THAT HAVE ALREADY BEEN DONE AND RENAMING THEM JON OLSSON YOU ROCK!

the end

i would like like to see more tricks like simons bio 7 truck super smooth, super clean, super big.

LOL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! ya dude simons misty 7 truck was SOOOOOOO stylie bro! king of style ya man! top 3 runs were DEFINITELY stylie1!!1

last year there was a hate out for sw 10's and now people are saying that they would rather se them vs the kangaroo flip. Next year everyone will be over it and every pro will be throwing it with grabs i cant magine.

If someone has a problem with Olsson doing nothing but Kangaroo Flips, then another pro better step up and do something that will win the comp and then I beat Olsson will stop doing them every comp.
