Are foils worth the $$$

never skied anything but Salomon, never tried the foils but all the ones i have tried seem basically bulletproof.

hate on salomon all you guys want. i have guns and ride foils as well. absoultly love the skis. guns are a little stiffer in the tail but aren't bad. foils are just an amazing all around ski. good for park, good for all mountain, good for pow. i think all the salomon hating is because they are a big company and not as "core" as say a line or armada. how many line delams have we had threads about?

my $.02 is that the skis are worth it.

yo, dude, I am looking at the foils as well, I was wondering how much you are looking at paying.

I have never skied them, but the people who have seem to like them...accually seem to love them as a do everything ski. THe people who bash them seem to do so when they haven't ridden them, they do it because of the stigma everyone has against Salomon. I think they are a solid ski.

^ THC cores in scratchs? a buddy has a set of 1080's from a few years ago and swears they haven't broken down

how many salomon delams have we heard about, my friend bought salomons every year util he got rossis, every year his skis delmaed, no joke/

im not going to get into a dispute on salomons or line or anything else. all ski companies have their problems. i just think all the hating is because salomon has a foam core and is a major ski company. i would tend to believe that "if" a "core" company went with a foam core you all would be talking shit about wood.

I know a Salomon team rider that in 2 days delamed BOTH the foils and CR lab, doing nothing more than jumping. I would never buy those skis.

i demoed the foils this year and loved them but i know they're a little pricier yet i don't want to spend the extra cash if they're gonna break down in a year, otherwise i'd go with something cheaper

i had salomon spaceframe 720's and they were real soft but i rode them hard for 2 years and never broke. i test rodde the foils this year and they were a lot stiffer. i liked them. i just bought some fujatives, they comin in mail so i havent rode them yet.

I demoed the Foils down in Vermont a little while back and I have nothing but good to say about them, they really bit into the icy sections which I liked.

I got last years 1080's and they havent broken down at all from last years season and this season so far

you wouldn know fool, you don't ride em, the foam core does break down, they don't expect kids to ride as much as we do now... and if ur a kid like me who works at a "resort" and ride almost everyday and vacation, that foam core is toast at the end of a season, becasue i know that u can kill the pop even in a wood core if u ride hard for a full season

calm the fuck down. god. i average 5 days/ week on the slopes. thats juggling school and work.

"fool" and "if you are like me" just makes you sound infantile.

"Foam is for Shaving!!"

"Wood is for Building!!"

You all need to get with the program. Both are fine in ski construction. All skis are only quality tested for 20-30 days on snow...

Ive skied both K2's (typical wood core) and Salomons (Typical foam core) and have not had problems with either.

And if you are delaminating Salomon tips, learn how to ski...It only comes from slapping your tips.

Who is your friend then?? None of our skis have had problems and you should see our next years line up including a new womens line.

The last pair of 1080s I had delaminated after two days, sent them back got another year they held up pretty good except foam Shit came out from the edges. A ski with a wood core is much more durable, like K2s or Heads
