Are Columbia jackets quality?

I'm not sure but I've noticed that any time I got a coat that wasn't made for skiing it would soak up water a little. But I really don't know

Columbia is really really nice shit. Its more of a family type company, not like made for skiing or anything but they perform very well in the winter.

not made for skiing?? are you serious?? i guess thats why they have snow skirts for powder skiing and various other things that wouldn't be on just a winter coat... like clips to hold your ski pass and stuff... dude columbia is dank shit, i have 2 of their jackets that are way warm and way nice

Stick to the Titanium Series, they are on par with The North Face. I mean they are not Mountain HArdware or Arteryx, but Columbia does have solid R&D singce they were taken over. Only complaint I heard of working in REI is they overestimate breathability .

that coat is actually pretty ILL,....... but usually when i see a Columbia jacket i see a gaper or tourist

Now it depens on where you buy it, they used to make really good shit, and they still do but they also make not so good stuff, so you have to watch out. If you go to general sport stores and they are selling columbia stuff it may or may not be good, If it is really cheep it is probably not so good. but they do make some really good stuff.
