Mogul skiing is tight shit guys. If you think about it, Its where freeskiing was born. All the daffys and spreads and quad twisters of the oldschool hotdoggers. That was the shit.
All it took was some mind power, Combine the sick shit we see in mogul skiing, and combine it with the sick shit that snowboarding has brought to us, and create twin tip skis and freeskiing and all that tight shit! yeah. Without Johnny Moseley's Mute 3 in '98 and the "dinner roll" in '02 who knows if freeskiing would be as huge as it is today.
I give anyone in that sport props. Especially that Canadian dude, fucking corked 10, stuck it, and then finished off with a mogul line. Those things are 4 feet tall and ice hard, thats fucking gnar dude. Mad skills.
The only gripes about it I see are that the difficulty of trick isnt compensated with a bad landing or anything. I say that if you bust out a corked 10 and dont fall on the landing but come off a bit sketch, you did way better than say some guy who did a simple 360 and stuck the landing.
Aerials on the other hand, Im sorry, but its just become old. I mean, those guys have to work hella hard for what they do Ill give them that, its not an easy thing to do that at all, but there isnt much to it. Its like curling. Same thing. Every time. The guy who does the Quad twister(or whatever the biggest trick is) and sticks it the best wins. You cannot change up your style. You have to keep the body completely erect and all that. I mean, its cool and all in its own respect, I give those guys the upmost props for what they do, but its almost like winter olympics take on Diving. Same crap, same results. You cant really progress further than a certain level.
If Halfpipe skiing or Skiercross were to enter the winter games, I would think aerials would get the boot first, but who knows. Maybe they can just add our sports to the mix. Maybe by 2010 or 2014 we will be in there. We will just have to wait and see...
