Any one here really into architecture or skyscrapers? I am, and im wondering if i should start a cult devoted to architecture, auto cad and skysscrapers/skyscraper construction.

well, i think auto cad is fun to play around with, but i dont do it a lot any more. i used to be in arcetectul drafting class, but my auto cad seat is from 2002, so its kinda out dated.

Really? I like freedom tower, but your not alone in thinking that the building sucks. The whole architectural community is in an uproar and some commitee is trying to get the design changed.

^why? I just just think that it could be a lot taller, I know it goes to 1776 feet, but thats just the spire, the buildings end a lot lower.

Yeah true, but the spire has wind turbines to power the tower in it. It has to be really tall, and instead of building 2 towers they are building several buildings under 50 stories to replace the twin towers so they wont be as much of a target anymore.

Its going to be the tallest building in the world, for awhile, and then some other building in Asia is going to over take it like 2 years later.

architecture is way cool, well good architecture that is. ive got a lot of books and stuff, take classes on it too.

one of my friends is really into that stuff and he's goin to some architecture college. i dont know a lot about it but what he shows me is real tight. ill check out that site you have that empiros or whatever sometime

 
dude, I really like architecture. I used to really love it, like more than anything, but then I started skiing, so... Anyways, I'd join the cult. I have tons of books on skyscrapers and stuff, and yes, I also hate the new design for the twin towers. The should have just rebuilt them, except made them taller, and not as ugly. They could change the way they are built too, to make them harder to destroy.

I don't deny there are bad things in the US right now, hell, 51% of the country to be exact. But god damnit, our country being fat is NOT a problem. I do't give a shit how fat people are. hell, fat kids are harder to kidnap, that means our country is safer.

I thought the big building was supposed to be called the Mileenium Tower. And it was supposed to be built in the bay of Hong Kong. Its supposed to be about 2,000 feet tall. And 65,000 people are supposed to live there. And there will be over 100,000 people visiting each day. Apparently its being built to help control the problem of overpopulation in Hong Kong. And its gonna take about 10 years to build cuz it will be a world project. And as for Auto Cad, fuck that. Chief 7.0 is was cooler. But I havent used Auto Cad 2005, Ive only used the 98 version. My teacher says we wont get to use until I am in grade 12 next year. but archetecture is definatley a possibility of something to have as a career when I get big.

do the chickens have large talons?
 
The Millenium Tower Project was scrapped, and it was supposed to be in Tokyo Bay. Another good site is skyscrapers.com

I don't deny there are bad things in the US right now, hell, 51% of the country to be exact. But god damnit, our country being fat is NOT a problem. I do't give a shit how fat people are. hell, fat kids are harder to kidnap, that means our country is safer.

our school has cad 98, but i like using rhino better because its 3d and can add colors and materials

well seeing as the cn tower in toronto is 1815 feet including the spire, the freedom tower wouldnt be the tallest.

CN tower is a freestanding TOWER. Freedom 'tower' is classified as a skyscraper. Freestand towers have no purpose. Skyscrapers are used as office buildings and residensial.

it is a building. yeah, more specifically its a free standing tower. but do a search of 'tallest building' on the guinness world records website, what comes up first?

and why should i have to convince you that it has a purpose? of course it does. restaurants, many attractions, lots of shops...it is a huge tourist attraction.

True your right it does, it does have resturants and an observation tower in it, but when i was refering to the tallest building i was saying skyscraper wise. But Lanks you are right, my bad.

the Freedom tower, (the building to be built in New York) is 1776 feet high, can anyone find any signigicance in that number? I hope you Americans can.

This is the proposed Shanghai World Financial building, I think it is a cool design. And its super tall.

there are pans to make a skyscaper in Dubai that is nearly 2300 feet tall.

The tallest structure in the world is a raio antae, with the cables, but it is over 2100 feet tall.
