Arapahoe basin ghost park?

they have a lot of rails for abay as of monday. 3 or 4 rails in the upper line, i honestly cant rember what, then 3 in the lower line and 3 "jumps". flat bar, tube, and a flat down.

but if your going to abay to ski park i feel bad for your soul.

Ah see Ah see.. Thank you friend. Yes, it's depressing but it's better than nothing. It's a constant battle in the life of a weekend warrior.

Upper park: 3 rails , pretty basic but fun.

Lower park: small down rail, single tube, and some other small rail? Also a small 3 jump line as well.

i had the best/most fun powder day this season on monday and tuesday. it's snowing this weekend again, and its 100% open.

Treeline Terrain Park consists of a nice down 30 rail, single barrel drop down rail, triple barrel flat down flat, and a small little flat down combo rail. High Divide consists of 3 little jumps, down 20 rail, flat tower tube, and flat down single barrel. And then our lowest park as previously mentioned just has a pole jam and a down box in it. Look forward to seeing everyone out this late season.

I remember when they used to build some descent jumps like 3 or 4 years ago. Any idea why they stopped?

Limited water for snowmaking and a world class terrain park just down the road. Nobody goes to A Basin to ski park unless it is early season or late season and everyone else is closed. Jumps cost a lot of money to build and it just doesn't make sense for a place like A Bay. Besides, there are natural jumps all over that mountain that are way more fun.

Kind of touched on it here. Mainly space and snowmaking are the issues. Believe me no one wants the jumps that we used to have back more than the guys on our crew, but we will continue to try and provide something fun for the rest of the season that people will enjoy.

Hey nice job with what you guys have. That flat/down/flat in the top park is super fun. I noticed you guys have a bunch of boxes and rails fenced off up there. Any chance that stuff will be setup at all throughout May? I remember a flat/up box from last year we were all trying to flip off.

Yeah, we got a few planned builds coming up shortly and we will definitely try and get some of those other features out there this year. The flat up box was one of my favorites from last spring and might have to make a return if we can find a nice pile for it.

Awesome feedback guys, thanks! Someone's always going to complain but A basin is on point this time of year. As long as you guys keep the "perfect" down bar (30 footer), all is well. Stoked on the mid line too, definitely 80% of my tricks started on that little down bar ha. Keep it up park crew, we still get to shred cuz of you.

I'd kill for some iphone pics of the set up; I'll be up there on Friday and will take pics if someone doesn't beat me too it.

Cheers!

upper park is a 20-25 foot downrail, 15 foot drop rail, a 20 foot flat down flat triple tube, and like a 10 foot skinny straight rail.

The windlip on lower east wall is ballin

Looks like East Wall and Land of the Giants might be closed for the season. There was a lip at the bottom of Land of the Giants right before the runout to Lenawee that was much better than the one at the top. Sucks they had to close it.

that is very unfortunate.

park crew should build up a jump

The jumps in the park are pretty sweet actually. And they have been opening terrain as temps drop and snow accumulates. A lot of the terrain off Pali is open again and it looks like East Wall might open up for the weekend or early next week.

not at all my friend. Park crew doesn't have the right snow or the go ahead by management to push anything bigger than 7 feet.

Not sure I understand your point. Are you saying that a jump 7ft or smaller can't be good? I never said they have big jumps. And compared to the absence of jumps altogether last year, I'd say they are doing pretty well.
