Ar7 vs ON3P Jeronimo

Sup guys, hope all is well.

Im looking at progressing my park skills, and i currently rock 165mm rossignol sprayers. Shit, i know. So im looking into getting either the ar7 or the jeronimo, with jester bindings. Looking for a park/all mountain ski which isnt afraid of a good pow day. Also, which is the best bang for the buck?

Specs

6 feet tall

150lbs

Expert everywhere, but the park.

you could go to Jeronimo 181 if you want though. Go to 186 for more pow needs. Also depends how deep of pow and where. This ski would kill in the east coast for pow day less than 8in. any more your probably need fatter ski.

AR7 is more allmnt/park. Not very good in the pow unless you know how to ski pow on skinny skis.

AR7 181 120 -87-110

Jeronimo for more pow/park/allmnt

Jeronimo 186 132-101-125

181 131-101-124

Jeronimo is also rocker so it skis shorter. AR7 is traditional camber all the way.

so you guys think the jerry is the way to go?Seems like its the all around good ski.

Im still stuck on the moment PB & J.

Wasnt to satisfied on the fact that the jeronimo wouldnt handle well at high speed on hard pack

I don't know why people are under the impression that the J-mo is not stable. I have no issues with it. Like any rockered ski you need to stay on top of it and not be lazy.

The JMO before this year was 96 underfoot with a traditional sidecut, the new JMO is 101 with a elliptical sidecut.

With an elliptical sidecut, the underfoot of the ski is a little straighter than the sidecut in the tip and tail, it makes the ski much more stable when tracking straight. Any problem that anyone had with the ski being wobbly was likely because they were overpowering it.

at 6'3 and 180 I could overski the old 181 - the new sidecut helps a lot, even if you're a big dude. I skied on the new 181 this year and thought it was great, and I usually ride skis that are in the 110 range for park for the sake of stability. I'll be getting a pair next year.

I personally love the J-mo. I'm on last years 186. This years intrigues me but I already have the 12/13 Jeffery so the 96 waist on last years suits my quiver better. Any day where it hasn't snowed in a few and the resort is skied out I jump on the J-mo's. I loved them for spring riding too. Probably spent more days on the J-mo than any other ski the last month of the season.

I like the AR7 and think they are a great ski for progressing in park, they also handle surprisingly well in the powder days I've riden them on,

Who cares at what you like????

Get a better binding. any thing thats not marker royal.

it's all about performance of the binding not look.

at 160 pounds, i have had great success with my griffons. some bent brakes but that is bound to happen. only problem in two years, on used griffons.

Can't speak for the jmos or pb&js but I can tell you that the AR7 is pretty great all around. I am 6ft and weigh 145. Im rocking 176's I ski the hardpack of the east and I can assure you the ar7 is pretty damn spot on for whatever mother nature throws at you. I went out to the PCNW for 2 weeks last winter and skied powder every day... 15+ inches at baker 12+ at steven's...and so on.... and to my amazement they did not do half bad. For park, your set. I do not think I have owned a ski with a stronger sidewall than my ar7's...I have 3 seasons on them with only one minor chunk out the base, and not much else. I would not say its a one quiver ski...but pretty damn close. Hope this helped!

+k that was beautiful, Thats what i was expecting to hear, a well rounded review. You just sold the ar7 to me. Time to start saving and selling shit

No problem! also I have pushed the speed on my ar7's pretty much as fast as I can go without hardly any speed wobble. And whoever said get sth12-14 drivers is right on(I have the 12s)... a little on the heavier side of bindings but they are a good product you should not have any problem with. Another great thing about the AR7 is the price. But good luck on your purchase! and have fun this upcoming winter dude!
