Ar6 vs. alpha 2

personally I have never skied either, but I would go with the alpha's, cause of the rocker, the elf shoe technology and the smaller sidecut.

in the end I guess that it depends what you like to ski and what part of the hill you most often

im not sure if its true but ive heard that the Alpha 2 is very similar to the AR6 just with rocker and a couple other features

nope the 1 has a race base that needs to be tuned more, the alpha 2 base has i think the s7 base which isnt as fast but can go weeks without waxing and maintnence

he's talking about the the Alpha 2 and the AR6 - which do both have the S7 base and the AR1 core. As far as materials they are the same ski - they are just constructed differently (way differently - nose rocker, different side cut, and a lower profile).

Ive got the AR6, my twin brother has the Alpha 2.

AR6 is heavier, very durable.

Alpha is lighter, better swing weight imo, same base (crazy strong), a little stiffer in the tips and tails, and just overall great.

I'd go with the Alpha personally, but both are amazing in jumps/rails.

you feel like your too far forward on the ski if you mount center, go at least 1.5 back could even go to 2.5 and still be set.

i really didnt like the alphas at all i felt like the put me back seat off of jumps and they suck all mountain, they do have really low swing weight and when u get used to them they're probably sweet make sure you get them big and mount them at reccomended else it will be like skiing on blades.
i love my ar6 wouldnt have any other ski
