AR5's vs Foils

I can't decide between next year's 1080 foils ar5's. I'm 171 so id have the ar5's with the red topsheet. Im not sure about the foils because people say this years 1080s were shitty

 
ok imma go ahead and say they're both probably good all around skis, but the ar5 is way cooler.

Buy the armadas, and: Support a cool company that actually makes good skis. Save yourself the hassle of destucted skis. Become the steeziest skiier at your mountain (Yes, it will happen).

i think that both of those skis are going to perform well but i would deff go for the ar5's just cuz they are prolly gunna be a little bit stronger.

Hmm...... well... let me say that if you get the foils.... you will be sorry after about one day. Both are good skis but you have to admit image is a big part of it. Rock the armadas... that or get some lines. whatever though. I wish I woulda got mo ships instead of my ARV's... too late for that thou.

i have not skied on eather the ar5s or the foils, but i have heard from some one who rode the foils a lot this year that they suck.

 
I dont think you can let ppl decide for you, you need to ski them yourself, and have u skied 1080's or ar5's thats where you should start as well as comparing stats

AR5's: Are considered a Park-Pipe-All mountain-Urban ski. and come in sizes 161, 171, 176, and 181. They have 2.5 Edge tech which they say is the beefiest edge tech to man! They have a 8 series top sheet which is said to be stronger than previous armada topsheets which is good considering ive seen lots of schematic, and cosmetic damage to the armada skis. They have a New #1 AR Core which decreases the weight, and provides more response and stability, as well as durability when riding. And some hella weird artwork if you ask me...Last years 170 ski had the dimensions of 109-78-99 and ranged in the price of 400 and up most the time.

Foils-well obviously many people ride this ski, as you most likely saw in the x-games. The ski comes in the sizes 166, 174, and 182. And runs about 470-500 dollars. The skis is said to carve or slide, its versataile, has great edge grip, and is fun and more fun. The skis dimensions and sidecut are 124-83-113. The ski has a Salomon Construction, and Monocoque composite. I have also heard that the skis is now part wood as well as foam. I have heard nothing but good things about the ski.

skied the foils, really loved em...doesnt feel like a twin tip becuz it holds an edge really well, very quick and responsive. lots of pop. fun ski.

he can't test them himself because our home mountain has only 26 trails or something and he would never get a chance too unless he went west

oh and hes 5'7" so maybe he should get 176s

but i definately like the graphics on the 171 ar5s better than the 176s, but w/e

i rode some ar5's and in the park they are wicked (so fun to just buuter and shit) but outside the park i found they were floppy

get the foils, i rid them as well as the new ar5s and i liked them both but the foils were much better

 
ar5. next years model. they are a much better ski with no foam in the core.

^^to an extent....but you're mostly wrong, they have different dimensions and different flex, and i beleive they have a wood core

totally bias opinion get the ar5 they will probable be a lot cheaper but you need to demo both first and come up with an opinion of your own
