Ar5 181 vs foil 182 for 65% park and 35% groomers/backcountry

Im now to long considering which ski to buy so one of this 2 it will be.

Im 192 and 95 kilos the prices are both 550 euro.

Which ski will be the best for me and why??

 
i'm thinking foil. with 35% of your skiing potentially being in the backcountry, the foil's wider waist will help you out a bit.
 
^nomensteven, what the crap are you talking about? The ar5 has a stiffer, more solid construction, hence is carves better. Foil = FOAM. Yes, foam. Sure, it may be fine at first, but last I checked, foam didnt have great hold over a long period of time. I had both scratches and 1080s that had the foam core and they were like noodles after 15 days. The kid is welcome to make his choice, hopefully the foils will overcome physics and foam will hold up :)

Sorry that was a rant. The AR5s have been my favorite ski of the 10 or so I have ridden. But, I've heard good things about the Foils too. How well can they hold up with that core though?
 
i love Ar5's outside the park. its made to be a ski that does everything well, not just park. Edge hold is fine. Never skied a foil so cant comment but they sound ok. Not as good in park but a bit better out. Your in the park most so go ar5. still good all mtn but great in the park,pipe,and rails too.
 
Re read the first post in this topic you moron. You just made yourself look like an ass. O foils are good if your 180 or below, well this kid is 192. Plus Ar5's are grat outside the park. Your always giving people shit information.
 
Which is like 220 pounds or something. So yeah. He's bigger than me... I have 180 Ar5s, but they're not ideal for outside-of-park riding. I want to say 185 ARV... Or possibly scratch BC sprayers.
 
Karmas are stiff and long for someone who's skiing 65% park. ArVs are borderline, but they weigh less than Karmas. Ar5s are an option... they're just not ideal. I ride them, I'm 210, they're just not exactly my "all mountain" ski.
 
would be the scratch bc 06/look p14 lifter good for me for park and some groomers cause im heavy and big i think i can handle them very easy but are the skis oke on groomers??
 
if your gonna be riding park. you might want stray away from riser plates.... The BC is a solid ski, good choice, but the ARV's will def. WONT disappoint you in park. My prefference is ARV's but BC's would work too.
 
no sorry, ar5's are great outside of the park. ive seen first hand how good they are. ie. being able to pick out which carve is yours from the hundreds below in the chairlift because thats how deep they carved.

you probably just heard it from someone who is a bad carver to begin with.
