Appropriate compensation for shop hookup

Everyone,

My local shop is going to hook me up on upcoming binding mount. I was going to bring them a case of beer. Is this an acceptable form of compensation or am I going to cause problems? Back in tahoe when i worked at a shop bringing in beer was fine, but you know.......post-9/11 world might be different.

Probably depends on the shop, but it seems to work just fine at my local shop in Washington. Helps that they are next door to a Bevmo.

K cool thanks guys. I just talked to the guy who helped me out with my bindings last year when they broke and he was like, "just let me know when you're on your way and I'll take care of it for you on the house"

I'm not going to let them do it without giving something in return.

That's what I figured, but the days of friendly businesses where the bosses don't care and falling away quickly. I just wasn't sure if any shops had fallen victim to this and I was going to be received with, "Thanks for the offer man, but we're not allowed to accept it."

Just don't let the boss see if it's a problem...and worse case scenerio all you get is "thanks, but no thanks", it's the thought that really counts.

i was wondering about this last night. made me wish there were gift cards to liquor stores so i could slip that to them and not run the risk of a case of beer causing a scene

our shop never turns down drinks of any sorts. its always a nice gesture either way, cookies or beer.

oh yeah for sure, ive done it a few times and it's always been fine, unsurprisingly. i just sorta worry that there's a chance that the mgmt isnt chill and it becomes a thing. just don't wanna put the shop dudes in a tight spot if i can avoid it

either a 6-er of something higher quality or a 30 rack of lower quality is usually what I see at the shop I work at
