Applying to work at ski shop?

Okay, so this dude was previously banned for doing exactly this. In this same thread. For 3 days. He's now banned again, for a week. Which leads me to the following question:

how are people actually stupid enough to think that no one will notice this kind of thing?

Exactly. I worked in shops for 4 or 5 winters. It was pretty fun at the time but I'm really happy that I don't any more. And honestly, clueless gapers are far better do deal with than douchebag know-it-alls.

Yeah, third that, but take it further - it's not just retail, it's like any other job, period. Or at least, any job where you have co-workers. If you have a good group of people to work with you have a good atmosphere and work will be fun. I had a good time in all of the shops I worked in though, the people who work in ski shops just tend to be good shit, I guess.

I bagged and stocked groceries full time for one summer, by far the worst job I have ever had. I worked at a ski shop for 3 winters, by far the best job I ever had. Of course that depends on alot of things, but thats my opinion on the matter. Everyone I know who worked as a lifty, ski instructor, and even park crew did not get to freeski much, and did not enjoy their job. I rented and tuned skis 40 hrs a week, got to ski every day at least from 12-4, if not all day, and loved every minute of it. I did not get a free pass since I chose to not work for the resort-owned shop, but that was an expense I planned on making, so it wasnt a problem. Some pple I worked with didnt like dealing with the customers, but I am a pretty patient guy and I never really thought it was a big deal.
