Apple Warranty?

I have a ipod nano. The generation before the one with the camera. So maybe 5th gen? It has water damage and does not work. If I take it to the Apple store would they help me and replace it?

thanks for serious responses

probably wont be cheap to replace, but they will try.

if applecare covers ipods, and you had it, then you'll be golden

Applecare doesn't tech cover accidental damages. But if you have it there is a chance they will still cover it! My mbp got water damaged pretty badly and I just took into apple and they fixed it free of charge, would of costed me $900 otherwise.

If you don't have applecare i wouldn't even bother tho.

Apple typically take a little more persuasion to replace an ipod but from my experience they will replace an iphone for anything less than like dropping it in a jet turbine.

Its worth a try. I had a ipod mini, if you remember those and it had water damage about six months ago and I took it to the apple store and they fixed it right up for me, i had no warranty!

it never hurts to try!

O yea this part lol. I just went in and said I have no idea why this isn't working, and then when he told me it was water damaged I was like wow really i have no idea how.

Water damage is tough to replace under warranty because the iPod didn't have any malfunctions and it is pretty much the owner's fault. But with that being said, my bro cracked his screen from stepping on it with cleats and walked in to the Apple store and after checking his history, they found he had not had to get anything replaced or fixed before and handed him a brand new iPod for free.

yup. well for me i said i don't know what the deal is, they sent it in to get fixed, i got it back and applecare covered it, no discussion of water.
