! Apple Sucks What New Phone Do I Buy ?

Alright... I'm currently sitting in my cubicle at my boring internship and decided to manage some media on my phone (iPhone 4). Upon opening my picture folder within the PC I am using, I started to delete picture after picture, and eventually large selections of photos.

Basically, long story short... All of my pictures are gone for no reason except for 10 pictures that I actually selected to delete. Does not make any sense what so ever. No way of getting them back now, and no way I'm going to continue using apple products...

Once I get my ATT upgrade in July, I'm never going back...

What should I buy?? Instead of a Galaxy?

oh and all them naked pix are totally lost now... da fuck!

You said instead of a Galaxy, but I have an S4 and I can vouch they're good. I also heard that HTC Ones are better, sooo....

I also have an S4 and love it. My friend has an S5 and really likes that too.

I might get a lot of shit for this but I used to hate my iphone so I got an htc one, which was supposedly the most durable, premium android that ever was. The first month I was very happy with it but then it stopped accepting a charge... I got a new one for free because it was covered under warranty. Then that one broke, as in it just shit itself and stopped working. At that point I ended up getting pissed off enough to just go and buy an iPhone 5s for full price and it was the best fucking decision I ever made in regards to cell phones.

Tldr: don't buy an android even though iPhones are boring and lame because for the most part they work just fine

Just curious....why no galaxy?

The HTC one m8 is pretty sweet, but personally I like samsung's interface. Can't go wrong with the s4 or s5.

I love my HTC One. I can't stand Samsung's build quality or interface which is the main reason I got the HTC instead, couldn't be happier. Nexus or Nokia 1020 wouldn't be a bad choice either.

The thing that pisses me off about apple is that as they come out with more and more software updates, my 4s begins to get shittier and shittier. The volume bar disappeared on my music player a couple weeks ago and no matter what I do it refuses to come back unless I put in ear phones. This leaves me with no way of listening to music out loud unless I have a speaker.

I have a windows phone, which is really nice actually, because I use my skydrive for work a lot and I can access anything super easy on my phone, and I also like the tile interface, but what I HATE is that there is no mobile hot spot.

I recently got a HTC one M8 and its pretty stellar so far. If youre on sprint you can get the Harmon Kardon edition and theyll hook you up with a nice pair of earbuds.

s5 or note 3 (note 4 will probably come out in fall) htc one m8 looks tight too

I would even recommend getting the s4. I just got the s4 in april and to be honest it's not far off from the 5. I know people with s3's that still love them so you would still be alright even if there were updates.

HTC One M8 is a beast, so awesome, in my opinion the best you can buy

If you are looking into a very good smartphone that doesn't cost so much you have to go for Nexus 5... I have the Nexus 4 and it works very well, but some friends of mine take the 5 and it's really nice

From what I have heard the note 4 might have long distance wireless charging. I don't know if it will or not might be worth it to wait and see.

Link:http://m.techradar.com/news/phone-and-communications/mobile-phones/samsung-may-power-galaxy-note-4-with-long-distance-wireless-charging-1190116

meh if it does, it will be so slow. Right now my note 3 charges fully in under 2hrs with the usb3 + 2amp charger and then lasts at least 18 or 20 hrs on a full charge. Wireless charging is cool but with battery sizes and new processor tech, most people could use their phone for multiple days without charging. Wireless charging would been awesome 4 years ago (or with current older phones) because you could be xft away from your port and it would charge, I know people who constantly have their iphones plugged in so that would be nice for them, but for a note 4 is would be low on the priorities.

As long as youre not verzion (op is att) the nexus 5 is very nice, the nexus 6 should be coming out this summer as well.

Buying a phone in the summer is kinda silly, wait for fall.

I got the htc one when it came out last year and was super stoked on it. Then it's microphone stopped working. Got another one, same thing. Got a third phone and that lasted me a little over 9 months until it stopped charging.. I am now using an iPhone 4s.

I definitely like android a lot more than this thing but this works. That's something that my htc one did not do.

That being said..I wouldn't hesitate to buy an htc one m8. Those things are fucking awesome. If you were to go Samsung route, get the s5 active. Insane specs packed into a brick of a phone

sooo sometime in between me posting this and right now, my htc one randomly wiped my whole phone. well kind of whole phone.. it looks like it reset it or something because all my apps are still downloaded and music and shit is there but my home screen layout is reset, accounts logged out, contacts gone, etc. not a happy camper. should have taken the time to back the thing up after the phone reminded me a thousand times. might switch to nexus 5 or something now

I bought the LG G2 a little over 7 or 8 months ago and I love it. The only issue is it gets bogged down by apps, and occasionally the texting feature gets a little sketch ( I've experienced this with Samsung phones 10x's worse though). It's durable ( I drop it a shit ton, and I'm too stubborn to buy a case) and as far as features go it's top notch. Camera quality is clutch , this is an up close I took last weekend, it literally auto zoomed in .5 seconds and took the picture. For a cell phone camera, not too shabby. I take it hiking with me too, it's quality.

The screen is massive, and it supports HD video playback, which runs smooth. Sound quality is pretty awesome too, it can belt out music.

It's probably come down in price a bit, I'd give it a good look.

clean out the headphone jack port.

if it gets dirt or debris in there the phone gets tricked into thinking headphones are always plugged in.

its got nothing to do with softwear updates lol.

Like the guy said up there, the LG g2 is a great phone and probably cheap as hell right now. Back when I bought it 6 months ago it was really cheap with great specs and i love it. It would be worth looking into the g3, whenever that comes out. Or the g2 with the curved screen, whatever it's called. Friend has an HTC one. Never really liked the phone. Clunky and problematic. S5's and note 3's are gorgeous pieces of machinery if you wanna go Samsung. Really just stick with Samsung or LG imo, they're both killing it right now.

I have an s4 and love it, the camera is crazy and theres way more apps. The s5 is a faster, sleeker, water and sand resistant version of the s4 so it is probably fucking amazing

Not trying to hijack your thread here...

I have a Galaxy S3 right now, and its really time for an upgrade, I really enjoyed the phone, but I don't' want

to go to a S5 because they are plastic. I want something thats metal, the market seemed to be trending that way so I don't understand why samsung didn't follow.

bigger profit margins with plastic, and the public has been buying their plastic for years, so why spend more money.

And plastic doesn't make a "worse" phone, but I agree it doesn't feel as good in the hand.

Whatever you do, OP, DON'T get a windows phone. The appstore sucks and the UI sucks. You don't even wanna use the mobile hotspot because it fucks the battery after some time. I had a windows phone and then I got the S4 Mini. Best decision of my life.

Just putting it out there, google drive is probably about 100 times better and its free for any phone/OS.

don't know if you're just technologically challenged or what but YOU are the reason all you're photos are gone...regardless of what kind of smart phone you've got if you don't want to lose your shit you back it up, plain and simple.

Android, Windows, or Apple,

accept that you will make mistakes, and prepare for them. Back your shit up or don't complain when its gone.

almost anything android. android is getting a big upgrade this fall too with the new software update. gona be huge for android. iv got the s5 coming from the 4s and love it. only complaint is the notifications on the home screen which the update will fix and make more like the iphone.

i love that it's more like a computer than my iphone, i can do so much more. and i have suuuccchh better battery life. ultra power save mode=multiple days of use.

I've had both the S5 and the S4 and I must say I like the feel of the S4 better. It's lighter and slimmer. There isn't really much of a difference but the S5 has a higher brightness and that tricks you into believing it's the better display. Well in fact the S4 has more PPI (pixels per inch). So the S5 isn't really much of an upgrade.

Get a Galaxy S4 or S5. Those things are legit.

Or an LG Optimus G Pro. Only if you like big phones though, since they are bigger than an S4.

Definitely dont get the active. Either wait for the new S5 coming out in a month, or get the normal s5. With the active it is bigger and heavier but does not offer any real advantages strength wise as they both have the same waterproofing and similar build quality. It is mostly aesthetic differences.

Upon conclusion to what actually happened...

It was actually the old ass Windows XP PC I was using to access my pictures that corrupted my data. The connection caused an issue because I also lost all of my music that was on my phone too (even though its in a different directory)?

RECAP:

~Upon further consideration.

~I will either get an HTC device...or have no cell phone at all.

~As long as I can access my drive on my desktop at home from my telephone I shall be 'downtown charlie brown'.

Gracias

why is it 100 times better?

I don't have a choice, though, we have shared work skydrives--and I don't choose what we use at work.

Also I like Microsoft and support them over google, because a.) I'm a PC, and b.) I live in Seattle and happen to love Microsoft.

I recently switched from iPhone to Galaxy s5, I really like it, but the switch is really difficult, i felt like this guy for about two weeks

Galaxy. I've had my s3 for a couply years, still going strong. Android is just a superior operating system overall
