i have a pc desktop and want a laptop and the apple laptops are pretty sick and cheaper than most good pc laptops. are they compatiable at all for like word documents and media files, for sharing between them or do they not run like that

Macs can read PC formats, but PCs have problems reading mac files. I was looking at the mac laptops also but I didnt like any of their specs on them..and they are a bit over priced....I just bought a new Sony Vaio 2.66ghz for about 1,500 and I am liking it...The laptops are kinda slow I think. Mac has virtual PC though...and thats cool...so you can run windows on your Mac's....What Laptops werre you looking at?

the 12 inch power book were cheaper than than the sony v505 laptops but ya the sony has more shit and is faster but i only want a 12 inch

When are people gonna realize that mac's processor rating is totally different... a 2.6 ghz pc is a lot slower than a 1.8 ghz g5 mac. in fact, its slower than a g4 1 ghz after about 6 months. PC decay is horrible, my 4 year old G4 runs video editing programs faster than my 1 year old IBM. PCs suck dick. If only they made anything compatible with mac... word's fine tho, i have no problems with my pc reading wordmac files.

^^ you moron.

you can't compare a P4 to a G5...totally different processors.

and no shit video editing runs faster on the mac...it's not that hard of a thing to do when you're writing software that only has to worry about one system configuration for the most part.

And dont say shit like there isn't anything available for them. The only thing that is lacking is games, but that will change soon.

it's actually not lacking in games, it's just the hardware to play the mac versions always needs to be pretty recent and not a lot of people can keep up very well.

I don't mean to get off the subject, but for strictly video editing, which is better? Mac with Final Cut, or PC with Adobe Premier? And why? (would prefer unbiased, legit comparisons.)
