Apple 23" Display + Xbox 360 = Secks? Fail?

i've looked around google a bit but most of the stuff is from a long time ago so i was wondering if ns'ers have attempted this.
my aunt is upgrading to something more expensive, idk what, but i have the chance to inherit a 23" apple display, the last model before the current one (all silver and secksy looking). now i know this only has a dvi port but i was wondering if there was a way to hook up an xbox 360 to the monitor and have it work. i currently run an acer monitor with a macbook in the dvi port and an xbox in the vga port so i would need some way to turn 1 DVI port into 2 and get a DVI-D to VGA converter to use with the xbox.
so is this even possible or would the picture not even work and i'd end up spending tons of money on a lost cause.....
if this isn't possible, then i'd like to complain about apple, if you're gonna charge 800 bucks for a gorgeous monitor you can slap another port in the back, don't make everything soooo selective

no i have an xbox with a vga cable that i'd like to hook up to my surround sound i'm just looking for a vga input for the apple displayi need a 1 to 2 dvi port and a vga to dvi converter, then i'd be set

..just curious, why dont you check out my post?

you can use the hdmi port of your xbox.. and the dvi port of your monitor

perfect solution, i dont understand why you want to go to shitty vga when you have this available.

actually, if you have surround sound, check and see if you have an optical input on your receiver.. because then you can get top quality surround sound..

well partially because i have the vga cable already and i want to be able to use external speakers
but what i'm looking for is to be able to switch between computer and xbox without having to unplug and redo a DVI cable every time. i'd need some form of switch where i plug in the dvi signal to the monitor and the other end has 2 ports, one for the xbox and one for the computer
the apple monitor doesn't have a dvi port on the back, it's a special cable that turns into dvi at the end

alright heres the plan use original hdmi cable then hook this up to the hdmi to DVI Cable with a connector, you should still have a audio port on the original xbox hdmi cable(optical I think)

Xbox>Hdmi cable that came with xbox>Hdmi connector>Hdmi to DVI Cable>23" apple

i got a cable for my xbox to hook it up to a monitor and i went with DVI not VGA and it had like sound things coming out too so i got an adapter and hooked it into my computer speakers pretty dope setup
