Apology

Yo to all you EC skiers who don't have a mountain to ski, I'm sorry about my last thread about how park skiers suck.

Some of them do, but some of them just don't have the option to ski anything but park or groomers.

There was this kid who skied whistler that I was talking to and he was like "jea, I can do a 540 or 720" and i was like "well I'm getting a place @ whistler soon, what good things are there?" and he was like "uuuuh.." and he didn't know. So that made me upset, because if you only ski park and DO have a place to ski other than that, you have all the oppourtunity in the world to do that stuff.

I'm fuckin jealous of you guys who are able to ski park. I don't have one at my mountain so I've had to make do with 1 or 2 days of park ever, and shittily built kickers and log jibs.

My bad on the misunderstanding.

thanks dude, the mtn i ski at has all groomed and a park, no bc whatsoever, if they did, im sure id be there as well, also id like to let you know that i didnt take that personally

We'll some people like to ski park more than other stuff. Just because they have access to other terrain doesn't mean they have to ski it. Im from the east coast and I dont have much else at my mountain then a park, but when I went out west I pretty much stayed in the park most of the time. Don't get me wrong I like glades, and steeps, and powder but I just like the park more...

word...all we have at my mt. is park and groomers and shit...so that's the most fun thing to do here. i was just at whistler and we skied the peak and harmony everyday, and park a little bit. both are fun in their own ways no doubt.

yeah i understand man, its rough for ice coasters.

when i got out west the past 2 seasons, i tried to do a little bit of everything. at PC this year i would go up to jupiter and ski the good pow they had up there, but i also went in the parks because i knew they were better there than at stratton, but hey do whatever you want.

alright. my message was befoer i knew this apology thread existed. See my mt. has 2 things, green square groomers and a small park, thats one of the reasons I got pissed. And yea props on realizing a mistake was made, you really don't see that very often here.

our entire hill is 350 vertical feet. out park is prolly a little over 100, but is pretty amazing. i love it. and never knock someone for killing what they are offered. if i had BC and good snow, i'd never be in the park, but i don't for now.

I don't feel sorry for you not being able to ski park at all....here's the thing.....YOU'RE FROM SEATTLE! I live (lived i guess...live in New Zealand right now) Seattle too, and we have some amazing parks up at Snoqulamie and Stevens...lets see, about 1-1.5 hours away from Seattle. You ski at Crystal which, in my book, is one of the best mountains, only 2nd to baker, in terms of terrain. So complaining about not being able to ski park doesn't make sense in multiple ways. First, you have an amazing mountain in the first place (the EC doesn't at all compare to Crystal) and second, you have access (in very close proximity) to some amazing parks. Doesn't make sense of how you are jealous of kids who can ski park....that usually entails that you do not have a park near you at all. You are one of the lucky ones with everything, and the best of everything, close by.

Just my 2 cents.

Alright people, chill. Obey the icon. Its not a big deal. Royale's thread was only what prompted me to make my thread, it wasnt what got me going about it to start with. I realize there was probable a misunderstanding somewhere. I also owe an apology. If my thread was what promted this, my bad. It was intended as a rant and as the top paragraph said, no offense intended.

Here;s my two cents:

haha my moutain has both pretty much! when it dumps, i say that just plain skiing is better and when there is no good snow my favorite is just killer park sessions. and also i have the choice of many different mountains. jep

My mountain is 700 vert, with about 4 real trails, and nothing over 25 deg and nothing is ungrommed(except in the rare case of 1+ ft of snowfall when they open up other trails). I have nothign to ski but their sub par park. Im glad you have some understanding.

Good man for apologizing. Our mountain has had 2 powder days this year and the closest we got to bc is either some glades or an old snowmobile trail down the backside of the mountain.

man props to you, its rare on this site that some one realizes that they did wrong, let alone apologise, good on you bro

I agree, it does upset me when people waste such a good mountain as whistler by just skiing park. But, if that makes them happy, thats their deal I guess. I just hope they know what they are missing

to all you cats with 500-700 vt. feet, don't bitch. i'd kill for a resort with that much vert. my resort is only 227.5 feet. classy.

and to everyone else... let people ski whatever the hell they want. when i go on trips, i don't touch the park cause it's all i ever ski at home, but who cares if a kid from the east coast never skis outside the park? sure they probably aren't quite as good as everyone who hikes and skis big lines all day. but, if they are in the park all day, isn't that more fresh pow for you? exactly.

you can't blame people for "wasting whistler" by only skiing the park. Newsflash: whistler park is sick. If you're bitter about people not taking full advantage of the opportunities they have then your best bet is to just die, because.. thats life.

noooo...

have you seen the prices of the passes?

And i have skied their park it is quite sick. It was my first day of park ever.

It's just not financially OK to ski only the park. If you ONLY ski the park, that's a waste of time.

The funny thing here is, part of the problem was me, I think I made my apology in some form in Site Discussion. If not, I apologize. Happy? We can all stop the park v. bg mountan argument I started/restarted.

i had the shittiest season in the east because i dont ski much park, partially because my mtn has a shitty one. so i take every oportunity i get to ski in the woods or hit cliffs, whereever the fresh snow is. we only had a few good days this year, and they were early

funny story too, i skied wildcat in october this year, and i think it was one of the few times all season u could actually ski the old gondola liftline

this thread is a waste of time. i if you have more fun in park than anywhere else, it is financially ok to do whatever the fuck you want.

You can go to any damn old park and do jumps and rails there. You DON'T go to whistler just to ski the park. It's just not what you do.

It's too goddamn expensive to ski just park there. Use your common sense.

haha ummmmmmm when i have been in whistler i pretty much only skied the high level park......i mean not every single run but i'de say 70%

soo i just have a feeling your just whining because you probly suck at park cause you don't ski it. and your hating on it cause you suck at it and because you arn't able to ski it. also that you think your a big mountain skier when in fact you arn't but your mad you don't get credit for it.....

I have a feeling you have no fucking idea what you are talking about.

1. I ski big mountain 50+ days each year, every year.

2. Crystal Mountain is a huge mountain that can't be considered anything else than a BC mountain and a smaller piste resort. The BC is probably as big as the piste area.

3. I could ski park anytime I wanted. I just dont hve the $$$ to go to another mountain, because I have a season pass and a room up at crystal.

4. I have skied park and jumps. I just don't do rails too well, but I don't really like them too much anyways. They just fuck up my skis.

5. I don't hate on park. Read the thread, dumbass.

I don't wanna start up this argument again. But some people like you just have no idea what you're talking about.
