Apology to kid at Sugarloaf

I think this apology is pretty cool of the guy. Yeah, you both could have been hurt bad, but most of the time when this happens it is a family that doesn't even acknowledge what they did was wrong. I freak out at people when they do it to me, but shit happens.....at least this guy is aware enough to know he made a mistake, and he probably won't do it again. I will admit though, it is a pretty shitty feeling when you are about to get to the lip and you see some dumbass cut right over the landing. Sounds like it was a positive learning experience, even if it was at the expense of some jacked up kid.

I mean you guys do a good enough job of giving these tools at our disposal, we as members just choose how to use them. Some for the right reasons, and some for the wrong.

Lol Kids assuming they know everyone and everything about CVA

Luke Brown, James Campbell, Ted Porter, Mark Spinney and more look em up. All went/go to CVA, all slay so hard, and all definitely dont fit into the mould of CVA that so many kids here think is how it is. Im sure there are a couple but for the most part no...

But just keep thinking you know everything about someone by seeing them ski past you in the park. Thats a great way to learn about and meet people.

I believe it was stated somewhere before that some kids are different than others.. Some dont come off as horrid spoiled brats

Okay so im contemplated making another account just so I could shamelessly ask what the callout was. But im going to be honest and just tell you I dont know and would like to know. I live in Jamul California, thats 3 hours away from shitdick bear mountain and 7 from Mammoth which i guess you could call my "Home" mountain. Anyway, i just love skiing and thats why im on here so it would be cool if someone could share their wisdom and help me out. From what i gathered it is some reference to Tanner Hall's chads gap video.

Pretty much you ask a suspected NSer "do you know how to get to chads gap from the bottom of Alta?" If they answer "ski patrol blew it up!" You just became best friends.

Thanks my dude, i realized that someone had already explained it earlier and i could have saved myself some embarrassment but oh well, Hope to see some of you guys at Mammoth in about 2 weeks~~~~

A true Gaper would have skied on totally oblivious and unapologetic. that kid was being a tool props for recognizing you messed up and apologizing for it. i cant tell you how many times ive almost landed on some gaper and gotten yelled at by their dad er something. i just tell them its dangerous to camp under a jump and move on with my life.

No shame!

Its in reference to this thread - https://www.newschoolers.com/ns/forums/readthread/thread_id/76398/

That thread was always legendary, and people kept referencing it over and over. It just became a joke that ski patrol blew it up, and as such one day when trying to come up with a Newschoolers callout - the chads gap bottom of alta / patrol blew it up just seemed perfect.

Someone correct me if my NS history brain is hazy today.

i thought for the blowing up part, it came from the X games interview with Tanner Hall. when he said it felt like somebody pack dynamite into his ski boots.

As I recall, at the end of his MTV scarred section he says something like "ski patrol went in the next day and blew it up."
