AP Bio, Bio/Botany Majors: Why is my lime plant secreting glucose??? (need for tmrw)

"My lime plant is secreting glucose from its stomata, but im not sure why? Glucose is a product of photosynthesis, but excretion would mean that its not being used up for energy purposes."

My teacher has a lime plant and we need to write two paragraphs explaining why this is happening with sources for extra credit. If you can help me out in any way that'd be amazing.

I should know since I'm in honors hort 2 but I have no idea. Is this a lime plant like that makes limes? If so did you pick the fruit off? I don't know if that would have anything to do with it though.
