aight, so i just had my first day of class, i am living in rez and i am wondering if there are an Newschoolers our there, give me a shout
 
word finally found someone...york such a sick place (NS blog) anyways yah im in rez, what year are you in?
 
York is an interesting place. But do be careful. Girls get raped and people get robbed and stabbed. But you ll prob be okay. Im in 3rd year though it doesnt reflect my age.
 
so far my experiences have indicated not so much .....i went to york fest with a $3500 camera and walked back at 1am with it holding it out in the open....and everytime ive been on the campus late its been nice...maybe its the area more around campus giving it a bad name....i dunno (knock on wood)

what program are you in?
 
^York usually doesn't have too many problems, but keep in mind the neighbourhoods that are a 5 min walk away. The shitheads from driftwood and shoreham know university kids = ipods/laptops/cphones...etc.. easy pickings for street robberies.
 
oh yah...there is an awesome kink rail on keele street just south of Steeles on the east side...could probably set up there and not get bothered, I eye it up every time I'm working, but I suck at rails....I promise I won't bug ya if I'm working...
 
oh true i remember like two years ago that you worked in the area...but yah i am just wondering if people want to set up urbans this winter or something...any others out there?
 
Peterborough is a rail mecca. just throwing that out there to anyone who wants to do sick urbans here :P
 
ryan my buddy who lives oh bethune... him his neighbours and shit all have hand rails in there front yard ahaha. I can see myself comming up some time ill bring my sticks we will fuck shit up, if your up for it :P

ah yes im at york first year doing kine. im not on res but i spend more then half my time just sleeping at winters res. what res you guys in.

ya just the other day i was walking saw a few perfect rails.

ah nice winters ya i stay there 2-3 times a week down on the first floor, not my res tho.

oh and about the raping and mugging, i was walking back from a lab thursday from bethune around 9 with my buddie and these other guys (we didnt know them) 2 guys were like 10feet infront of us. so there are these 4 black/brown guys chilling on a bench, and as we walk by they like you are you talking shit, and they go up to the guy infront of as and just like pounds him one in the face and this guy drops so then he turn to us and heslike you fuckers got a problem what the fuck you looking at, we just kindof ignored it and got out of there and called campus patrol. but it was fucked this guy got knocked, it was hard to laugh not to laugh i donno why but just as we where aproching them i said jokingly some one gonna get jumped and then bam it happend
 
first floor, some good times on weekends...

but thats messed up, i walked to and from bethune of thursday and friday from winters damn...i guess i got to watch out for people on the bench, did they even take anything?

Agreed, Mac is pretty terrible for rail selection. All the good rails in the Hamilton area are in Dundas. And Mike, good to see you back on NS.
 
I very very very much doubt that, but i would appreciate it if you could find a clip? point me in the direction of the one you think it is
 
one of my friends back in grade 9 was in the jane and finch area (i think thats where york university is). he was walking alone around 1-2 and he got mugged by a bunch of 20-25 year olds. They apparently slapped him in the face then held him down while they took his wallet and cellphone. Scary stuff.

I visited Wilfrid laurier and waterloo in the summer, they have some pretty sick hittable rails too.
 
I go. There is an arena nearby, im waiting for hockey to startup so we can use snow and me and buddies are gonna do a weekly jib session hopefully. I'll make a thread on it soon.
 
im in first year doing Political Science. just wanted to know what the ski scene is like @ York. do they have any weekend buses to blue or mslm?

My younger brother is out right now flicking a sick DFD for me.
Its near Bloor East (Danforth) and Broadview, Right down by the gigantic hill.

I'm definitely down to murdaaaaaa handrails this year. I've got one in mind between College and Dundas on Ossington. No bungee required, but it would be good to link up with some homies who have a bungee.
 
Correct, It is beast like. its a DFDFDFD with little gaps about 4 inches apart every DFD which makes it almost unhittable for skiers. There was definatley some wear on it though from snowboarders.
 
anyone care to give me some info about York? I'm wanting to transfer to any of the three schools in toronto, preferebly York or U of T. I'd be taking poli sci.
 
I go to York. I'm always down to ski. Kind of beginner but i can hold it down lol....i'm frequently at the AB at Winters!
 
Hopefully someone still reads this thread... I created a similar one before I found this one

I'm first year (but spent a year at another school last year, so I'm 19) in BFA film production, living at winters and hoping to ski louis and blue and beaver valley this year. Anyone still around that's skiing?
 
I live in winters, I'm at the ab all the time. I'll wear skiing shirts sometimes, lots of Voleurz too... I wear a purple voleurz hat a lot too. I'm 6'4" too and skinny, not easy to miss... say hi If you or anyone else sees me
