im talking about higher speeds, like kids start out slow ripping through city streets and stuff going around 30-40 through corners, then they suddenly think they are invinvible and try doing shit at 90mph and have no idea what to do, a car handles extremely different at really high speeds. it doesnt matter if you have awd, you try doing rapid steering imputs at 40 mph the wrx is perfectly fine and its almost impossible to loose control, you do the same at 90 or 100 and you will be screwed. ive seen this happen right in front of me, and in a subaru, some kid was flying down a main street over 100mph, tried to weave past a car, lost control, hit 2 trees and split the car in half, killed himself and 3 passengers, i was literally 100 yards away in the parking lot he crashed into.
i have first hand experience too, ive driven an awd car on a track, with corners from 20 mph to 120, at slower speeds you can throw the car into anything and it will be fine and get out of it. at 120 it has none of that extra stability you get at lower speeds.
with a rwd car, on all those corners the car atleast handles similarly, and you know what to expect.
im not saying awd is bad, im just saying its wierd getting used to it, and the fact that its awd almost makes it more dangerous for unexperienced drivers.
