it would prob. be cheaper to find a welder in your city then try to buy one and ship it.pluse you can fixed if needed, easy.

just learn to weld. its nor really hard at all.

stop at the library, pick up a boox on it, devote 2-3 hours to it, and you should be able to weld fairly decently in a short amout of time. nothing amazing, but it will do for making rails

Just make sure you read that book carefully and understand how to use the equipment. Not to be an ass, but if u fuck up welding, bad things can happen. My best friend was in tech shop and he was welding and keep the welder in one spot too long, he had part of the weld drip onto his pants. 3rd degree burn, just becareful and take your time. Welding is easy if you take your time and use your head.

i just finished a 400 level structural steel design/engineering class, and i could tell you exactly how much force a weld of a certain size can hold, but i have no idea how to actually make a weld

is it true you cant weld galvinized(sp?) metal?

not really a total newbie, but i lost all my posts, and ya, I left newschoolers for a while
 
weldings pretty crazy shit... and welders do cost alot to hire its one of those construction type jobs that are semi dangerous so they can have there prices pretty high

you can weld galvanized metal, but it puts off poisonous fumes so you must be outside

a few of my friends found some rails at this building that's getting remodeled, they welded em together and made a sick down-flat, so...it works, i don't really know how they did it though

(assuming you are still in high school) take metal shop and you can learn hot to and be able to make rails for free and get school credit while doing so. if you crank out enough of them you can sell them to kids in your school too.

i can make anything that doesnt have a curve in it...like i cant make a c rail or a rainbow but i can make kinks or whatever u want
