I was thinking, and I once saw someone accidently hit a rail not under their boot, but they compensated balance wise and rode it for a bit. Admittedly it looked weird, but I could see how it could look cool if you managed to keep steady balance over the rail and go the whole way riding out on tips or tails. Has anyone tried this? I guess you could even do it off the edge of a box or something. Just wondering if anyone had any thoughts on this.

 
sort of like the front foot is balanced, and the back foot is more near the tip or tail?

well the magazines are silly if they are calling that stuff presses. I hear ya on the skateboarding thing, though. What happens now if I am skiing along going straight or even on a box and I press my nose down or my tails? Then what would that be called? I am also looking at snowboarding. They can do nose/tail slides and they can do nose/tail presses, so I am just taking that and relating it to skiing, you know what Im sayin?

i get your point about the press/slide thing. i'm pretty sure a nose- tailpress the way you'r talking about would look really goofy on skis.

Shouldnt that pick be called a noseslide? Wouldnt a nosepress be like a nosemanual on a box?

Look at snowboarding, a nosepress on a snowboard is like a nosegrind on a skateboard, and a tailpress is like a 5-0 grind.

The Guy in the Pic turned 90 onto the rail, so it should be called a noseslide.

We dont call lipslides and railslides 50 50s, so why call this a nosepress?
