I was looking for an all mountain ski and I had the ARV, Rossi S5, Kung Fujas, and Volkl Bridge in mind. Has anyone tried any of these skis? All but the Bridge are new for this year and I needed some advice before bought a pair. Any thoughts would be great, thanks.

nah only the kung fujas are new. any they're pretty soft and i like the width, but like any k2 they're heavy and bomber. all the otehr skis you should be able to find review on- the S5 is the same ski as the 07 scratch brigade and the 08...something...i forget the name somebody help me out...what was the last years S5?

but if you can afford them and won't be doing much park, go with the bridges.
post your height, weight, and what you'll be using the skis for first though.

might want to look at the 08 seths too

I'm 6'3, 190 lbs. I've got a pair of Ar6s I love for the park but I'd be using the all mtn ski for all mtn. I'll be mainly in the backcountry and off piste stuff. I'll ski a big groomer run every now and then and hit jumps in the park but no rails, boxes, etc. Probably 75/25 - backcountry/groomers and jumps. The seths are a little big for what I'm looking for.

The Rossi S5 is the same as the 08 Brigade (07 Scratch BC). Both the S5 and the Volkl Bridge are really solid all mountain skis. The Brigade is wider at 98 mm underfoot, but softer than the Bridge, which is 92 mm wide. I've skied both, and they both rip, but they ski differently. The Brigade is more playful and the Bridge is more powerful. It all depends on your skiing style. PM me if you want any more info.

I personally HATED the bridge when i rode it. it felt like a dead plank to me. but alot of other people loved it so i suppose that depends how lively of a ski you like. also i know that the ARV was stiffened up this year, so its not quite as much of a noodle as previous years

I rode the bridge for a day and loved it. smooth and powerful. Pretty stiff, so not very playful, but really really stable ski

Fischer Addict (pro). stiff, sturdy, loves high speeds, carves amazing, rocks the park, great all mountain ski, and i dont ski that much park and i have a ton of fun on them. not great for pow though, but neither are the ones you mentioned.

09 surface watchlife best ski such a great all mtn ski perfect waist to shred the pow when its there not to fat and carves amaze

When i demod the bridges, they were completely wrecked after two days. Double core shots in both, probably won't ever be used again by the ski shop.
