anyone tele?

I was at jay this weekend and they were hosting the first NE Tele fest. It was pretty sick watching some of those guys rip. I got really interested in it and talked to a couple people. Whats the learning curve for it? Looks like i could pick it up in an afternoon for the most part. I'm thinkin of getting osme boots and bindings and putting them on my old skis. Anyone know boot compmanies, or informative sites to check out?

 
Coming from an alpine ski background you can pick it up pretty fast, but it takes a while to get a nice style and the real technique down, especially in the park. You should definitly check out telemarktips.com though, check out there park page, its pretty cool. You can also check out telemark skier magazine, its a pretty awesome magazine. Good luck learning, you'll have fun on teles for sure

 
but to be a REAL good tele skier you have to get a smelly patagonia fleece coat. some north face pants with some duct tape on them. then grow a sweet beard. then you'll be ready to tele.

 
If your gonna get bindings, get the hammerhead from 22 designs. Its by far the most durable, most versitile binding out there, and it without a doubt give the most control and power. Scarpa t2s are nice all around boots, if you're going to ski mostly at a ski area, the t1s are stiffer and better for that, also the garmont synergy other something like that is similar to the t1. oh yah, if u buy teles, whatever u do buy twins, rt now there are i think only 4 tele-twins on the market, made by 2 companies, k2 and karhu. if u want fat u can get the hippy stinx which are the tele versions of the pistols, also for midfat park stuff u can get the piste pipes, tele versions of the enemies, i dont know as much as karhu, except that they are made in the line factory

 
Or just get regular k2s and lines, because they are the same exact ski except they have gayer topsheets.

ya tele is insane, and i almost bought some karhu teles to use as alpine skis cuz they are really cheap. (exactly the same as line w/ dif. topsheet)

yah the rumor needs to end about karhus being the same as lines, they have the same shape, but the core is dif too, if u used them for alpin they would prolly be way too soft

 
^ok, you're stupid its not a rumor its the truth. The jaks are the same exact, note i said EXACT, ski as the motherships. Just different graphics. The Jak BC is the mothership flite, and the Jak is the mothership tit. The tails are also cut down slightly on the jaks for climbing skin hooks.
