Anyone suffering from Crohs/IBD?

Not looking for sympathy or anything just looking to talk about similar situations.

I have been suffering with Crohns since I was around 12, 19 now, but was not diagnosed until just about 7 months ago. It's been a whirlwind transitional time for me seeing as all this was happening during my last high school summer and into my first year at college. Things have been getting better and I am going to Mayo to get checked out in a couple weeks so hopefully that goes well.

Anyone else here on ns?

Feel free to share stories/funny shit (pun intended) that you have had to deal with.
 
I have Crohns. The flare ups suck but thankfully its been 2 years since the last one. The drugs must work!

How often did you get symptoms in the seven years you weren't diagnosed?
 
same but i have Ulcerative Colitis. modern medicine ftw.

when i was bad, (2nd year uni when i was 20 years old btw) i lost a year of my life due to complete immobilization and constant fatigue. i was down to 120lbs at one point (im 6'3)

funny stories? haha i shit my pants a few times by accident? lol

ps. im probably not going to return to this thread to have a discussion. im sort of pretending that i dont have it and that year never happened. good luck!
 
I would get sick constantly, but I avoided ever making a big deal of it because I hate to complain to other (really regret this). I have a weird case where my crohns is only in my small intestine which made me throw up quite often.

I found ways to deal with my flares on my own but it eventually got to where I could no longer deal with it and I didn't want to deal with that in college.

I self inject two shots a month to keep the flares down.
