haha im not too crazy about country either. my hick friend's older brother does, and blasts country music in his truck really loud when he drives. its so funny. I've never been able to like rap, but I'm pretty into reggae though

Classic rock all day while on the job.

Steve Miller Band

CCR

The Who

Stones

Van Halen

Zepllien

Tom Petty

Bob Dylan

The Eagles

Aerosmith

Boston

Beatles

I love most genres of music including rap. But I love bands like creedance clearwater revival, the animals, the stones, kansas, zeppelin, jimi hendrix, and the doors.

I'm slightly sad, but I had already assumed that nobody in this thread would know who Love is.

/Classic Rock NSG failure.

I would have to disagree. It seems like pretty much everyone in my community that likes any sort of rap or hip hop hates REAL music. Everyone is so dead set on Lil Wayne, Drake, Wiz, etc. Those people HATE classic rock, blues, jazz, etc. Myself, I can listen to Nas, Biggie, and Tupac. I dont love them, but I think their music is O.K. If I start to play Aersosmith in the car with some buddies, they can't stand it, and start to rip on classic rock. I could tell you countless times where people give me shit for a stones t-shirt, or a John Lennon t-shirt. It just seems like everyone is in love with the prosthetic music that is produced today.

theyre just being stubborn. anyone who knows anything about music will appreciate classic rock. rappers are well known for using classic rock beats. bad example... but one would be snoop dogg using riders on the storm by the doors. only one that comes to mind right now but i know its pretty common for rappers to do that.

dont label classic rock as "real" music or any genre as real music for that matter

Im not trying to say classic rock is the only real music, im speaking as a generalization. Such as alternative rock, blues, Motown, classic rock, and such. Basically what im trying to say is that I dont consider most of the shit that comes out these days to be music. You might think its ridiculous, but its my opinion. From start to finish, the artist really does not do that much. A lot of times, people write the songs for them, they autotune it for them, probably even sing it for them at some points.

i hear you about the artist doing next to nothing nowadays. but you said something about how your friends who listen to rap/hiphop dont like any real music... rap/hiphop is real music..

Prog rock.

Couldnt agree more. Can't fucking stand acdc the guys voice makes me want to punch a baby. All the classic rock stations play it all the time around here as if classic rock only consists of acdc and lynyrd skynyrd. So annoying. That and they play like two pink Floyd songs. Really they wrote like 200 find another one.

I do! I don't really listen to them and am not really familiar with them but I know of them.

Anyway for me its Zep, Pink Floyd, The Beatles, CCR, Grateful Dead, Quicksilver Messenger Service, Boston, Jim Croce.

Guns 'N Roses, Queen, Zepplin, Boston, the Doors, Aerosmith, and some Bon Jovi consist of like 90% of my top played music.

i could have seen yes on saturday in boston but I couldn't find anyone to go with all my friends are fucking lil wayne and drake fans and can't appreciate real music that actually took talent to make. I'm gonna end up regretting this for a longgggg time but I think I'll go to a rush show if they have a new england stop and if the stones are on tour I'll be at one of those shows

Been listening to division bell for some time now. I love it. Its a different side of pink floyd. Listen to it if you have not yet.

have you listened to these guys? not really classic rock but they have a sick old school sound.

music starts at :30

post-waters albums are really different, yet good in their own way.

to make a top 5

5. The Wall

4. The Division Bell

3. Wish You Were Here

2. Animals

1. Dark Side Of The Moon

I really love all music man, I listen to classic rock when I'm stressed or wanting to unwind. But I'm more into the 'southern' stuff like Skynard, Marshal Tucker Band, Outlaws, George Thorogood..ect. Takes me back to the 'good ol days'

Skynyrd, 38 special and Blackfoot was my first concert. In new England oddly enough that's some southern rock for you /claim.

I would have to go with:

1. Dark Side Of The Moon

2. Division Bell

3.Wish You Were Here

4. The Wall

5. Animals

I am really getting into The Wall and Division Bell, but Dark Side of the Moon just has to many classics.

Kinda surprised at the amount of WHO fans. Honestly they are in my top 3 worst overplayed bands from the genre we call classic rock. Along with Guns & Roses and Bon Jovi, even the Stones are pretty played.

but as far as bands that do not suck cock.

KISS

Dio (including Rainbow/Black Sabbath)

April Wine

Boston

Van Halen

Zeppelin

Alice Cooper

Bachman Turner Overdrive

Foreigner

Scorpions

Def Leopard

W.A.S.P.

Thin Lizzy

Basically all I really listen to is classic rock/psychedelic rock and Bob Dylan, he gets his own category tho

Top 10.

1. Pink Floyd

2. Jimi Hendrix Experience

3. Led Zeppelin

4. The Beatles

5. Fleetwood Mac

6. Grateful Dead

7. The Doors

8. Cream/Eric Clapton

9. Neil Young/ Crosby, Stills, Nash, and Young

10. Queen

1. wish you were here

2. dark side

3. division bell

4. the wall

5. piper at the gates of dawn

never really liked animals, but division bell is a great album even without waters. coming back to life is my favorite floyd song and the rest of it is solid. doesnt feel the same as dsotm or wish you were here though, im a big fan of concept albums and dark side is the best concept album ever imo, but other than that division bell is top 5 albums of the past 25 years

people in this thread have listed all the major classic rock bands but seem to forget about the stuff that never had radio time.

Sadly some of the best classic rock is the forgotten music.

an no mention of kiss in this thread? to shame.
