Hey guys, I'm new to the site. My friend told me he had his own 'Canadian Cult'. So I made an account and join his Cult. I don't ski, I snowboard. I was just wondering if there was any other snowboarders out there?

snowboarding is wicked. we owe our style, attitude and alot of tricks to snowboarding. we just gotta catch up. we are a buch of posuers trying to be as chill as them.

dont hate on them as we are just trying to be tehm, so you would be hating oun your futureself. the problem is whenever we get clsoe they change then we follow. we are a bunch of following posuers.

 
Yea, I don't have anything against skiing, the only reason I like snowboarding more is because I think its more challanging (having both o your feet planted onto one board instead of 2 skis which you can move around easier).

Also I think snowboarding has cooler trick, and they look cooler when you do them. Skiing has some pretty sweet tricks also (the one where the skis cross and the guy tweeks is awesome).

But ya we all got our reasons for skiing and snowboarding, I also came here to talk to skiers, get their opinions on things.

all the snowboarders i've talked to think snowboarding is stylier and all the skiers that i've talked to think skiing is stylier. it's just that you are influenced by what you do and see

If boarders want to hang on the site good for them. it just shows that the combonation of the two sports in media is here. we should all be able to push each other. I know that I am influanced from many sports when I make films, like skating, boarding, wakeboarding, surfing, as well as skiing. we can all learn a little from others, like boarders.

sounds about right... we should be able to hang out with and talk to snowboarders, sniper was right in saying that NS skiing got most of its style from snowboarders... we just took it in a different direction.

Where would we be without skiing???

Really, it´s all about the same thing; Having a great time with your freinds and/or making new ones. I hang around with alot of snowboarders and respect what they are dooing aslong as they respect me.

I think we could learn much from each other. -I mean, it´s because of snowboarding that skiing is what it is today. Really, NS should have a sister-site like newschoolers SB or something. It would be great to organize camps aso. with them. I go for 'the more the better', and if half of them are boarders i dont mind.

Now, the first one to call me fag -i´m gonna chop your fucking head of!!

 
^Agreed. Most of my friends snowboard and I don't have a problem with that. I just happened to get into skiing first and when the time came I didn't want to switch. Anyway, talking on sites like this might begin to form a better relationship between skiers and boarders. I am kind of proud of people actually accepting this on this site and not just talking a ton of shit. Way to go guys.

Thanks for understanding guys lol. I don't snowboard mainly just to have fun with my friends. Its like a good part of it, but I also like trying to tricks and stuff. Its kinda fun to go with my friends because they ALL ski and their always encouraging me to try something and they think it looks awesome because they are just used to skiing tricks.

I probly would like to have atleast 2 other friends with me that snowboard so I can actually talk to someone that knows about it and stuff, but ya.

Do you think he could make another forum in www.newschoolers.com for snowboarding? It would help in my opinion, because it doesn't have to be a huge forum just a little one to see if snowboarders join up then maybe the owner of the site can expand a bit more on the snowboarding concept, since everything to know about skiing is already on this site lol.

I have a question, what do u guys thinks about Blades? Most of my friends blade and I don't really like it, it looks way to easy, but I just want your opinions on it.

Don't bring up the subject of snowbladers being gay..there have been to many threads like that..and they all get killed, like many people have said you hate snowblading cause u dont do it, you think snowboarding tricks are more stylie because you dont ski, its all a matter of what you do.

It is common knowlege that the mountain has turned in to a fashion show. Now, if you dont lok like a freakin pimp you get no respect. But is that a bad thing? No. Did snowboarding start that trend? Yes. Do I really care? No. Will I play along with the whole style thing? Of course.

But all of my freinds snowboard, and they pretty much are posers who literally bought their snowboards based on looks or a below 200 dollar pricetag, and they think its gay that I know more about snowboarding than they do. Yeah, its harder to get good at, but is by far the easiest to LOOK good at.

yeah he has a great idea about the snowboard forum itd be awesome to get some snowboarders on here and have a place for them to go too just like us and itd be great for harvey because we are all really newschoolers pusing what u can do on boards and having a good time and if boarders came so much more in skiing would be reconized.

 
i dont mind good snow boarders, i hate snowboarders that suck and go a foot off the jump then land on top of the table then carve down the landin and pushes all teh snow in to one huge pile, thats my 2 cents
