Anyone ski barefoot??

i play hockey barefoot, feet never get cold on the ice. However they stank after just one hour of session. skiin all day, i cant imagine the smell.

I've heard that from a couple of bootfitters that i've been too, that people are usually in a boot a size too big for them, because your average shop pulls boots out based on street shoe size.

I only ski barefoot if i forget ski socks, and i'm wearing street cotton low cut socks........... those hurt like hell, and are really cold........ but I've got like 10 pair of the smartwool ones, because I rack up more than 80 days a season. My boots reek like shit, but they're still comfy........ but I'm getting a new pair soon i think, mine are a tad too big and i know it, and the liner's packing out hardcore now, making the issue from not a problem to a bitch.

BTW, custom insoles are worth every penny if you're on your skis alot (ex. teaching like me)...... my feet are happy!

So speaking of going barefoot, anyone know about AEGIS?

One pair of my snowboard boots smelled pretty ungodly, especially after a season in them with no socks. But I hear the AEGIS liners are really good on controlling the stink.

word! last december I forgot to put on wool socks and I skied the entire day in ankle cut cotton socks..yeah, I got so many blisters and a frostbite in several of my toes(that hurts!!), couldn't ski for about 3 weeks. I'd definitely say, wear socks, and wool that is!

I used to have a pair of Hansen booyts the insole was made of rubber, you put babypowder, and went bare foot, was ok, but like mentioned above they got pretty stinky & sweaty. Was dam comfortable though

I dunno see how racers could possibly get into ther tight ass boots barfoot, ski sockcs make it much easier to slide in. I would never want to ski with out nice comfy wool socks. its probly pretty much the worst idea i've ever heard

im kindof a hippie so skiing barefoot is what ive always done. the only problem is sweaty feet rip out your liner. if your feet arent soft they wont sweat as much so they dont really smell

i've heard WD40, and putting their feet in ice water before putting their boots on. crazy. i like my boots tight, but not like that.

I barefoot in the summer...I hate when you catch a toe....anyhow...thin socks....the socks are not what keep your feet warm...they need to be there so you don't sweat as much

I played hockey my whole life barefoot.

best way to go.. I have also thought about skiing barefoot.

the stink is avoided by powdering your feet with baby powder every time you boot up.
