the series will surely go belly up if they cannot bring back some support after the scandal of this season.

anyone actually follow this series?

for the love god, do this.

I don't follow rally as much as I would like to, I can never see the races on tv or find them online so it makes hard to follow. It's a shame how the economic crises had many companies drop out, only three cars companies competing is super lame, however i do love the countryman and i hope my rents buy the jcw works version of it in the future.

I think that with travis pastrana, ken block, Tanner Foust and bucky lasek now competing in rallycross, that rally might have a chance to rebound in america, especially if the new dodge dart does well.

I probably don't have much right, but i do know theres nothing like seeing a car going 150 + on gravel.

this will never happen. Not cost effective.

notice how all motorsport monsters have gone the way of the dinosaur?

cost too much money to make the monsters.

the current state of the wrc is nothing like it was 10 years ago. There was a huge loss of sponsorship for the series due to a fall out with a TV deal. If the races are not televised the money support is simply not there and a lot of sponsors and car makers pulled out of the series when light of the scandal showed.

its easy to find the races online but coverage on the tv is fairly difficult to find.. it seems to be on speed on only sundays lately.

rallycross is a different story as its picking up steam since the X games have taken it in. Rallycross will never stack up to the compete level of the wrc. Look back to how bad ken block sucked when he had his dabble in wrc.

yeah to be honest I haven't tried very hard to find it online hahaha, i work on sundays so that would make sense as to why i don't see it, or I'm watching formula 1 stuff ( which I'm starting to get into as well)

The tv deal is very interesting, I had no idea about it but it explains a lot.

I completely agree with rallycross, but ken has made huge strides in making any from of auto racing more popular in north america, of course he'll never be good at the international level, but he had a much later start then most racers.

I've only started driving recently (got my g2 in December) but as a new driver, i really love watching almost every motorsport, hopefully wrc makes a comeback.

What the fuck? I dont follow rally too closely but I pay attention. I havent heard about any of this.

+k to the first person to describe this scandal to, and what is going on. Feel free to link me news articles as well.

rally cross is so lame. the courses are so narrow that the car that who eve gets off the line fastest and doesnt totally fuck it up wins. all the drivers know this too so there are so many lame crashes at the first corners because everyone knows if they don't come out first theyre going to lose. the courses are also very tight so there is no where to build speed for huge sweeping corners. it's just not competitive. it would be better if they didnt all race at the same time.

true, the track design just needs to be better, especially the retarded ass jumps they put in, nobody cares about that x-games shit, it just makes it even harder to pass making it less competitive and less entertaining. like little jumps and rough sections and all that are cool, just not the 70 footers everyone has to go single file over. id much rather see cars just getting a couple feet of air on the entry to a corner getting all sketchy and shit,

this.

rally cross wouldn't even be on tv if it wasn't for the xgames promoting it so much and the fact that half the drivers are pretty big names.
