Anyone run XC?

Met a dude at a XC camp this summer who skis at whistler and runs XC for his high school. I also ski and run. Anyone else? I think we are the best hikers, I smoke all my friends up the hill *claim* so running has it's benefits for the sicker sport.

I run 3 seasons, though Im still debating about running next year at college b/c its d1, and I dont want it to take my life over

I ran for 7 years or something, into college 3 seasons, but quit so i could climb and ski more. luckily my 2 running buddys/climbing partners decided to follow me, so we climb and ski all the time now. running was kinda cool when i was doing it but ive never been so happy for quitting.

i ran XC all four years of high school. i hated the running aspect but our team and coaches were awesome so it worked out.

yo, whoever runs 5k's should post their PRs up here so we can check them out-
mines 17:18, from last year, just got 1 sec. off it in a 5k yesterday, so pissed

the other day i ran half a mile and i thought that i was gonna fall over. but i havent worked out i like a month. gotta get back on that shit.

yeah i did and i was fast, even faster miler...but that was in high school. three years later and 60 pounds heavier (muscle claim), i can barely run.

what do you mean PopsicleStand? well i ran a 4:29 mile and a 16:47 5k as a junior in high school, but saturday i decided to run because i have not run ONCE in 3 years (although i do the stationary bike hardcore at the gym), and i proceeded to die. i literally could not keep up a jog for more than a mile. i made it two miles in around 30 minutes (dont worry i included my time i spent walking). so while i look great because all i do is lift and do the stationary bike...i actually am a fat disgusting out of shape fool on the inside. the only comfort i can take from this is that I claim my former superiority to my younger brothers nonstop, and i am muscular now from working out.

and no i can barely hike with my gear because i apparently have zero cardiovascular capacity.

i think my claim/fail ratio is 50:50 haha

i did it for all 4 years of HS and was a captain my senior year. All 5k races with an average time of around 19, no idea what my best was. Not that great for a captain, but i got voted in because my team and coach thought that i worked my ass off the most.

Anyone ever run a race at franklin park in boston?

a girl from my school was so so at high school an she ran 3 seasons, is goin to a D1 school an didn't wanna run becasue of it, turns out she's 3rd fastest on her team .lol

yea i run, in XC we do the 5k and in track i run the 1600 and 3200. running definitly helps with skiing but im still real slow hiking cus im lazy :(

XC is cool if you are good at it, but I don't see the point of running for fun? I like to run after a ball, or with one in my hands and run away and around and through people. I guess that's why football worked out for me.
