Anyone replaced afd on Salomon?

My gf was having tons of trouble with pre release on one ski. Had no clue why but after getting home from a trip one of the afd’s had cracked its tabs so it popped out. It had the yellow rubber pad under it like pictured. The second binding wasn’t moving at all afd wise. Put a little force on it and it popped right out to reveal no rubber pad but a glob of dried silicone. Clearly the person who sold me these sold me broken bindings which is why she was having tons of pre release.

I found a set of replacement afd’s with the pads new, But is that something that can be changed easily on these demo style bindings?

worth the shot to replace or just toss these and get her new demo style bindings?

she’s a very leisurely skier so doesn’t need anything more serious that a basic binding.

Just remount with a proper binding. Attack 11, Strive 11 or 14, Squire, all of those will be light, easy to adjust and reliable.

It’s a track system that came on the ski. No reason to remount.

The newer ones are super convenient to set up, but I hate system bindings so much. They lend a really dead feel to whatever ski they're on and they always end up having problems like this. Plus if the plastic track breaks or wears out, the whole ski is done instead of just having to replace the binding.

That looks fixable, but if possible get some flat skis for your gf and a set of squires, wardens attacks or something. Imo, even a leisurely skier will have a better time on a non system binding setup.

We just did Tahoe for 9 days. She did 3 runs down the easiest green the entire trip. She does not need anything more than she has now.

she’s on atomic vantage 75c. Way more than enough ski for her.

ended up getting do a full new set of Salomon l10 system bindings for $57 shipped from the house. Cannot beat that.
