I wanna know how they held up, 4frnt reps please dont respond :D. I was thinking about possibly hitting up the msp's also I would like some dimensions. My friend is pretty convinced that they are built shoddy.

4frnt is a great company. theyve got the right idea. however.... they chip VERY easily. my friend has a pair and there is one very large piece peeling off the tip. after this year he is going to try to warranty them, we'll see how that side of the company is. Another interesting note is the lightness of the skis. These skis are incredibly light, about half the weight of my tms id say. The ride is really smooth though. switch is stable as well as just cruising around. personally, id wait a couple years until they can improve their durability. however once they get it together, im all over them. really all i can say is that they need a rubber topsheet, like this years trouble makers or 1260's (im pretty sure theyve got them). keep in mind that this is from what ive seen and felt when i rode them a couple times, they are really my friend's so he could tell you much more about his experience. hope this was a help man.

4frnt is amazing with Warranties, if Matt Sterbenz even thinks theres slightest problem with a ski he goes to the Factory and checks out whats up, with is techs. But chipping, are you serious, that like asking for your skis to gett warrantied because you cracked an edge.

I have had 6 or so days of riding on my MSPs and they are the best ski I have ever had. And especially light for being a '87cm ski. They are amazing in the powder and in the park, I love them.

chips easily, ur a pussy. they're just war wounds from sending it. my buddy has already put in about 92 days on his 187 msp's and his skis are fairly shot. almost no camber left but the bases/sidewalls/edges are fine. iv put in a little over 30 days in on mine and they're still ripping, no camber lose as of yet.

That's awesome that you guys have been able to spend so much time together the past few months, sharing what we all love - Skiing and newschoolers. - nut

my 4frnts chipped alot hte first day, adn then held up pretty well after that. there great in park and powder too. dont know what else to tell you

OOOOO, How I love my 4FRNTS (I know my name is different then the skis I have, but EFF you) My MSP's have ridden only to days, and I cant wait til saturday, I am dumping several loads in my pants right now. But yeah, just chips on the first day, but Im not sure about other stuff, I just love them so much, its so much easy to land and take off backwards then on backwards mounted Public Enemy's.

I have 4 friends that ride them and they say its the best ski they have ever ridden... Im thinking about getting the new MSP's next year

i agree 100% with what everyone said about how sick they are....because they are. the only thing is that i've skiied them for half a season and my edges are totally separating from the actual ski. theres like a big gap in there... i hope they're defective so i can warranty them because i dont really think the whole edge is supposed to start falling off the ski after only half a season..

My edges are perfect. In fact, I saw the rep. at a demo actually encouraging kids to hit rails with his demos! No ski co. has ever let that go on, including Line.

I am very impressed with my STL's. definitly will make me a return customer, i want to pick up some 187 msps for next year

...

I hate buy new skis it always freaks me out. I checked the dimensions and they are about the same as my pocket rockets and i was hoping to go with something a bit wider, who knows though one of the main reasons I wanna get em is how cheap they are like 420$

yeah they seem to take a lot of damage in the first few days, then they harden or something - i've had the same minor (minor) edge chips and one crack in the edge underfoot since the first month i was on them, and since then they haven't really taken any damage at all (besides when i decide to land on barely-covered rock fields)

now that i think about it.... thats how my friends are too. all the damage was in the first week or two. weird.

ok... my 4frnts after 4 months of riding on them the edge/base is like peeling off the skis and sterbenz absolutely refused to warranty them. Pics are in my profile. I woudl sya stick with k2 its a safer bet. cause 4frnts are expensive its not worth it.. but they do ski great. Just... durability = issue.

I got 4frnt msp's and they are pretty sweet. THey do chip alot and scratch easy but they have perfect flex width and i 170 works out perfect for me. i would say that they are good skis and suggest getting them

Well he probably refused because he doesnt know weather it was rail damage or manufactures defect, becasue of all the edge damage you have on those...

Did you send your skis into him? Or just show you the pics?

The man is pretty resonalbe about warranting goods, so it was prolly a good reason for not warranting them.

Ice is Scary^, I had pocket rockets before my MSPs and they are not even close to being similar. First of all the turning radius on the MSP is much much larger and so they do not carve as easily. You MUST drive these skis as they are very stiff. It took me 3 days to get used to the MSP and now I absolutely love them. It is a big boy ski. The pocket rocket is a noodle. The MSP is incredibly stable at high speeds and are built very well. I beat the shit out of my skis and I cannot say enough about how great they have been. The ONLY complaint I have is that the tail is not turned up enough for backcountry switch landings. Other than that, I can't say enough good things about them. But be warned, it will take you a few days to get used to it.

i agree with him^ they are hard to get used too and ull probably fall ur first run, then you will LOVE them

So 4frnt has shitty warranty? I'm so close to picking a pair up but after all these stories of EVERYONES skis getting trashed it doesnt add too much confidence. I'm gonna be using these as a resort ski too so maybe the 187 is a bit long

What horror stories? From what I've seen the only problem is cosmetic blemishes ffrom chips in the topsheet. That does nothing to the performance of the ski. Sorry, you can't be blinging forever.

And as far as the kid who tried to warranty his, it's not Sterbenz every time you call 4FRNT, they do have a warranty dept. that deals with this sort of thing. I remember you posting your skis, and there was definitely a boat load of rail damage, so don't cry so much.

Well I won't be railing them, much anyway. I just want something that can hold up to the abuse of charging shit and bouncing off rocks
