anyone pick up their whistler passes yet?

me and my friend want to go up to whistler on saturday, but we are wondering how long it takes to pick up our passes. we may go up friday night so that we can get first chairs up to the new opening unskied terrain. is it a bitch to get your passes. would it be doable if saturday moring the two of took turns getting our passes while the other stood in the lift line?

 
the lift lines have been nothing, even on weekends you won't be waiting long cause it hasn't been all that busy. I picked up my pass opening day and have already paid off my 4 buy 4 pass since then

I'd go first thing in the morning to pick up your passes otherwise the lineup goes WAY out the door

if you guys are worried about lines, just go to the ticket window and get a day ticket, you just need to give 'em your info. then you go get your pass made at the *end* of the day.

maybe he means backcountry, but what little I know about the backcountry tells me that right now is a bad time for that.

Yeah man, you are just gonna have to wait in line, get there early, the line moves ridicuously slow. I waited an hour, and I got to creekside at 8:30am

 
you're all wrong.

You can't just go to a ticket window and get a ticket and get your pass at the end of the day. Whistler doens't do it that way. line ups to get your pass on weekend mornings are looong. If you dont want to wait then go the night before or mid day.

if I lost my pass temporarily in my car will they give me a ticket for that day? and would my pass still scan if I found it when i was miraculously going to the lodge at lunch and wanted to use my pass in the afternoon?

 
^They give you a new pass for free the first time, after making sure that they deactivate your old one. Do it again and they make you pay a token fee for another replacement pass, again after having deactivated the 'lost' pass. Nice try.

yeah, pretty much whta jib_this said.

we'll reprint your pass, never give you a lift ticket, and the next time you lose it it'll cost you 10$. By reprinting your pass it automatically deactivates your old pass.
