Anyone on Newschoolers golf?

Oh yeah! Stoked to start swinging the clubs since my hill closed. My local course tentatively set a date to open around April 14!!!

i love golfing. its really fun, but i get real fucking pissed when i play. nothing gets me as fired up as when i botch a shot into a lake.

Haha thanks mate.

I love golfing it's a great summer hobby, definitely a boggy golfer but I get better every summer. I'll probably never have a handicap < 5 but I'm okay with that.

I scrub hooks at a golf course all summer. Probably get 4 rounds a week on average. Still mediocre. Royal Mayfair Golf Club, host of a couple of LPGA Canadian opens...

I used to golf a lot when I was younger, but I haven't played in probably well over 5-6 years.

Now I am getting ready to graduate college and have been interviewing, I can honestly say that golf has come up in every single of my interviews. I actually feel professionally disadvantaged because I don't play golf and can't bullshit about it. It makes sense though because I honestly feel like A LOT of business is done on the golf course.

I almost feel like I HAVE to start playing now, I don't have anything against it, taking a case of beer and shooting some balls with my buds actually sounds fun but it isn't something that I would be chomping at the bit to waste my saturday afternoon doing otherwise.

I think I am gonna devote a few afternoons this summer to getting my swing back so I don't look like a total moron come the day I have to go out a play with co-workers and such.

yup on the school golf team in the spring, super laid back and we play at meadow wood and liberty lake golf courses near spokane

I work at a golf course and it has ruined golf for me. All I can ever notice is other assholes divots not replace and how the grass needs watering. I feel like james may

If getting drunk and driving the carts like an asshole while hitting the mercy rule of strokes counts as golfing......

Yeah, I like to golf.

Shot five over today on an 18-hole Par 3 with two nice 8-10 foot birdies and a bunch of pretty accurate tee shots (a rarity for me). Short game was on lock the whole day, felt awesome. Pretty stoked for the upcoming season.

Solid man! I'm super stoked too, shot 81 yesterday. I had 10 greens, but only 4 fairways. I'm also pissed though, out of those 10 greens I had seven "10 feet and in" birdie putts, all of which I missed... So my putting sucked balls, (34 putts). Could have easily shot a 78 or 79, especially without the three doubles I had.. Nonetheless fun round in nice weather!!

yeah i can bullshit golf conversation. all you gotta do is say a bunch of numbers, par, and different names for grass

most frustrating thing at times, but so is being a leafs fan, guess i got used to it.

but i love the game and cant wait to get out next month

Ill play at least once a week. golfnow.com really helps cut back on expenses and then youre not stuck to one course all summer

My parents have a golf course behind their house. Not a country club, a semi beat 9 hole. Used to be pretty good, haven't played in a few years though.

I miss it.

my girl and i play south lake tahoe, and carson city all year

south lake courses are pretty fun...like edgewood. carson courses are bleh. come up to reno and play or play truckee because thats where its at.

also I shot my first 79 today and was smashin the ball like a boss so im pretty pumped on that

I play golf around southern NH mainly.

If anyone in the area knows Atkinson country club I play there with a friend who works there so I get in for employee price which is amazing. But it is a pretty hard course and very nice course for New Hampshire. I generally shoot a mid to high 90's for a round of 18. Closer to low to mid 80's on easier more open courses that aren't that nice

I play about 30-45 times each summer. try to go at least three times a week.

I play pretty often. I used to play everyday of the summer at Hanover Country Club in Hanover, NH but for whatever reason that hasn't happened the past two summers. Caddied at Ekwanok Country Club in Manchester, VT for a summer- that course is un-fucking-believable.

I do believe there is a golfing cult on here somewhere. It's pretty inactive, but it'd be sick to get it rolling again

I just picked up a RBZ iron set and driver for a mad decent price.

need to get my new woods though , not sure what to get either.

The Rocketballz are legit. Or check out the new Callaway X2 Hot woods.

I had a hit with the Taylor Made SLDR lofted up to 11.5 degrees which went carried long with low spin. RBZs are all pretty good and I would try the Nike Covert- really good club even when you don't strike the ball at 100%

I used to be in a golf club. $50 a year, practice once a weekend, and we traveled to a different town to use there golf course. Plus we got a free round and bucket of balls a week.. They payed for plane tickets and everything, they were paying a lot more than we were to get in... It was fucking awesome. They did it to get youth into golfing, because no one did it here.

I should join again

Here is what is in my bag

Driver: Taylormade R11

Hybrid: Taylormade Burner Superfast 2.0 Rescue club that I use for my 3 wood.

Irons: Taylormade Burners

Putters: I either use a Scotty Cameron Futura Phantom or a SeeMore M5 Mallet

I play a ton in the spring time since I'm on a golf team. I would say I put in 10-12 hours a week in practicing or playing matches.

Going for the first time this year tomorrow. Birthday (well... day after) golf! I've never been able to do that before. Really, I should have gone skiing today and then gone golfing tomorrow, but oh well.

I used to play every day in the summer as a kid, like age 13-17, but am lucky to get out 5 times a year now. A local golf course offered a season pass for $200 so it was a pretty great deal, but as a broke college student I can't afford to drop $40 on a round of golf haha
