...or any hip hop for that matter...

Whats your guys thoughts on this year so far, feel like 2010s been lacking a lot but its starting to pick up. Beginning of the year I listened to a lot of Distant Relatives and Revolutions per Minute, but I found that both those albums disapointed considering its Nas and Talib Kweli.

Then the summer was pretty much two albums, first was Big Boi's Sir Lucious leftfoot son of ... which was amazing, so many bump-able songs and the other was curren$y's pilot talk which had amazing production and the raps were actually solid too, that album really suprised me.

Now, I've been steadily listening to Kanye's album, think I've listened to it about ten times, I love like everyhting about that album. MOTMII was solid also, feel like its just going to be forgotten over time, nothing stands out about it.

Also dl'd Atomic Clock, I know a lot of people like Zion I here, thought it was good but not as good as the take-over, seemed kinda rushed and waaaay frontloaded. Now I'm bumping Kno's album which is really good production, kinda dark reminds me of untrue/burial (dubstep heads) with just dark beats and death themes but yea its really good...

Any other thoughts on albums, I definitly forgot a bunch from the year but lets talk about them

kayne =/= underground hip hop.

AZ, old Wutang, aotp, jedimind and some good ol 7l and esoteric are always jammin on my itunes.

sorry but outkast lost it in the middle of stankonia, and kanye blows, seriously no talent. the outkast guys are at least good, now their music just sounds like mainstream garbage.

2010 and hip hop? there barely is such a thing

underground/mainstream its all hip hop.

Kanye is one of the best hip hop producers, hes done sooooo much for production for hip hop for people like talib kweli, jay z, mos def, dilated peoples, mobb deep, nas, common, etc. plus his own shit

plus straight off wiki, about MBDTF...

Production will come from West himself, Q-Tip, DJ Premier, RZA, Pete Rock, Madlib, DJ Toomp, Swizz Beatz, Lex Luger, and Justin Vernon.

sounds like some excellent producers to me

AOTP is too xcore for me, but I'm pretty sure they dropped an album this year.

Umm, Big Boi's album was extremely well recieved, check out the pitchfork review of it, its been such an anticipated album and it was excellent, did you listen to it?

kanye is a good producer yes, but i just cant stand his solo stuff.

not a fan of the new big boi album, love his older stuff, same w/ andre.

most the stuff i listen to is all 90's stuff. having a hard time finding that much stuff from recently. im just a huge fan of real instruments backing stuff vs all this digital shit you hear now.

kanye is trash, as a person and as an artist...theyre are so many other talented people who deserve to be where he is now

I agree with the Kanye comments. That guy is all around terrible. He just tries too hard, he can't put it all together into something worthwhile.

Curre$y was pretty ill. And I really like the new big boi stuff. I haven't gotten a new hip hop album in a while though, or new music at all for that matter.

Remember the underground hip-hop cult? that shit was sick.

I respect what Kanye has done for the scene, but as an artist he's a complete joke.
I agree that MOTMII was pretty sick. I really like the thought that Cudi puts into his work and doesn't just spit out a mainstream album.
Since Eyedea's death, I've been listening to quite a bit of him. Being from Minnesota I've been listening to a pretty big variety of Minnesota hip hop. Doomtree, POS, Heiruspecs, it's all good.

i listen to stuff that is not similar to this, but is still considered underground i guess. macklemore, blue scholars, sweatshop union, brother ali, atmosphere.

also, i have mixed anticipations about lupe's new album, hopefully he doesnt start to sound reall really mainstream like other guys

Apparently Ghostface is coming out with a new album, GZA is dropping Liquid Swords 2 sometime in the future, and Nas' Lost Tapes 2 is supposed to come out soon. So get stoked

artists ive been listening to lately...

PUTS...ive been stuck on them for a while. Montego is my favorite!!

thes one, panacea, kero one(nice jazzzzy hip hop)

nujabes.. a tribute?? awesome! RIP

MOTM2 i love it...screw those who dont,

OH! the sound providers...they are amazing.

been my favorite hip-hop group since i heard them on "Strike Three" in 2002. Their last couple albums have been lacking though. Questions iTFoaA and OST are incredible though

Lately I've been absolutely hooked to Pete Philly and Perquisite. They've got organic sounding beats and jazzy instrumentals. His vocal style reminds me of Guru from Gang Starr at times.

they have a bunch of songs on their site there, may fav is actually the first one on the playlist there.

I think they have split up though and this is what Pete has been doing recently.

He is releasing something like a song or 2 a week on his site from his new album right now.
