i'm away from my girlfriend at school and every day i hear about being away from her and everything and i wish to death i could be with her in boston (i go to uconn) and although it is only an hour and a half apart its far enougj that our newfound relationship (started this summer) strains because of distance /rant

inb4 just visit her or have her vist, we do that about every 3rd week

and ibn4 shut up and nonsense, i don't care to hear it, i needed to say this to someone or just post it.

I feel you. My girlfriend spent the summer in Mexico and things just haven't been the same since. Just talk to her every chance you get so that she knows you still care.
 
My girlfriend of 8 months went to NY for school while I am in CO. We still talk all the time, but she is at a military academy so we can hardly ever visit each other. We both know she would be happier here and I would be happy to have her here.

We've been apart over a year and it still sucks just as much as it did on day 1. K peace have fun OP!
 
90 miles is better than 2800 miles...

so now my vent is me venting about you venting about being too far away when you could easily drive there every weekend or for a midweek night, I know people who commute that far to work every day.

my woman lives 2.5 hours away which isnt tooo bad but she has school monday thru thursday and i work thursday thru monday.
it sucks.
 
my girl is really far away. like 8 hours away. While I'm at school. Then she's heading to Vancouver. So she'll be 12 hours away. With any luck, I'll see her in May...

you have to be able to swing a visit before may dude, i've got it set up so i'm seeing my girl once a month and she's 2800 miles away. coast to coast.

lots of time sitting on airplanes and a lot of cash haha

but it's well worth it and we're going strong,

the other 3 weekends a month blow hard though.

Thing is, she's a backpacking gypsy. She's off in this little town in southern BC trimming. She leaves to Vancouver next week, going to the Interior for Thanksgiving. I proposed a plan to her that she comes out to my place when I go home for Thanksgiving. She would then get a ride out with my dad on Tuesday, since he's driving right to Vancouver. Talked to her today, she was down for it, but, her had already made those plans to go to the interior before she got my proposal.

It sucks. Since she lives in that town in the middle of nowhere, there is no cell service either. So I rarely talk to her. Pumped though for when she gets to Interior and Vancouver, I'll be calling her a lot. Which will help.
 
i just reread your situation and wow that schedule blows. vibes to you in the hopes that she will text you nudie pics to carry you through the dry spells.

I want to send out a big fuck you to my parents, for getting divorced, for being assholes, for not thinking i was going to go to college, and i'm glad i'm out of that awful situation.

apologies for the dub post but hmm i'm not sure how to sort out a relationship with a gypsy but that's cool that she is into interesting activities. best of luck getting something worked out soon.
 
This. Except when your friends are on NS and approach you on something you post in real life. Something like your dorm neighbour reading a post about you seeing your other dorm neighbour naked by accident, then almost telling the rest of the people in that dorm.

Apologizes as well for a double post. I didn't finish my sentences.

It's not that she's a gypsy so to say, she just travels from here to there a lot. I saw her a lot during summer, spend half my summer with her. I think she's going to be in Vancouver for a couple months. Then Yukon to see her dad. Then Barrie, Ontario (home for her), until May. When she is going to want to come back west. Then Vancouver with her until summer is over. Then she heads back up to the Yukon for art school. I head back to Calgary....

Everything is just upside down face.
 
My GF is 5000 km away, so literally the other side of the country for school. Its been a month as of today and we havn't been stronger so it totally how you make it out to be. Don't get jealous, don't stress the little things, live your life and she will live hers and in the end she will be coming back to you if you follow the first three things i just said.
 
Long Distance relationships are the worst. Sorry It must just be me but I cant handle it. I need physical contact for a relationship to work. Unless it is already a well established relationship. Like more the 2 months.
 
dont take this the wrong way my friend but.. you just started dating in summer and now in a long distance situation? Idk man if it were me I would prolly be scoping the chicks at ur school out. In a couple months this thing will fall apart. Ur in college dude. Go mack on some chicks. Chances are shes already way ahead of you in this department. Again not tryin to hate. Just throwin my opinion out there. Ive seen this shit countless times

dude an hour an a half is nothing. a lot of people drive to ski resorts 3 hours away twice a week, just to put something into persepective. If you were really this upset about it you'd sack up and make the drive more than every third week. because that's just not gonna work

In all honesty man, you will probably save yourself a lot of trouble and heartache if you break it off now when the relationship is still young and in the "honeymoon" stage. Especially if you are a freshman at UCONN right now. I made the mistake of trying to continue a highschool fling into my first year of college and for the first 3 months I missed out on a lot. Freshman year is one of the greatest years of your life and working through a long distance relationship can really put a hinder on that.

I know there could be extenuating circumstances that make this relationship different, but 99% of the time it is something that will burn out anyways. The relationship is still young anyways and if its meant to be you can reconnect at a later date. Just giving you the advice I would have taken and again I don't know the whole situation, but putting things on hold may be something you seriously want to consider.
