Are you or anyone you know looking for an experiencened coach in Colorado? I recently got fired from Woodward by our brand new supervisor for having a bad attitude during training apparently. I'm looking to still do some coaching this winter. Because I love it!

I've coached for 2 years at Woodward Copper. 1 year at Roundtop Mountain Resort in Pa. 2 Summers at Liberty Snowflex. And I have my level 1 USASA cert if you care about that.

not sure why you'd mention getting fired for having a bad attitude when you're trying to score what's ultimately a job

Well lots of people know I've coached at Woodward. I didn't want people confused on why I'm looking elsewhere. Also I trust that people who actually know me, know that having a bad attitude about coaching is the farthest thing from who I am.

I'm the 3rd veteran coach they've fired in 2 weeks. And one other one has quit.

ill vouch for josh wong, guy is an animal and a great coach, had the pleasure of coaching alongside him for years at woodward. guy knows what hes doing and how to coach it. taught me how to do rails the correct way haha. miss ya big guy.
 
One time Josh & Birrion helped me to send my first backie onto an airbag. tru story. 10/10 quality coach

Really though, a bad atttitude? What the fuck kind of stick did they have up their ass? That's ridiculous...
 
saw you a few days ago there. you were my favorite coach for the past three years. no idea why they fired you. ill be hitting copper up a lot this season so maybe i'll see you around.

no offense but didn't you also post a thread about how you didn't enjoy the people you coached at Woodward? not that it was entirely your fault because i feel like you said it had something to do with parents forcing their kids to try harder, but still that doesn't seem like it would bode well for your future employment as a ski instructor...

Josh us kne of the coolest people around. I remeber talking to him like twice at Woodward and he was halarious

Dude I don't actually need a coach. I could care less honestly. It was an attempt at humor and what children nowadays call "trolling"

The thread wasn't talking about coaching in the slightest. It was him talking about how the barn was turning into a fancy Skyzone instead of a training facility.

Josh, you got boned, seriously. If Trev or pey-day got fired, I'm not coming back next summer. I'm not about to go back to a new woodward where all the coaches have a stick up their ass because they're worried about being fired.

This really pisses me off, although I could see how someone might see you have a 'bad attitude.' You're a pretty chill dude, from my experience. (Session 3 Big Air Dave experience). They probably took that as unenthusiastic nature and carelessness.

I completely understand that anyone can find and see this thread. But I have nothing to hide. I'm being upfront and transparent. I would never want to coach someone and then for them to find out weeks latet from a 3rd party source about my past.

I'm just being completely honest with my situation. And what happened.

Idek Josh personally but from what I've seen/heard he's a sick skier and a sick instructor. All of you idiots talking shit about him being fired are what is wrong with skiing.

Bishop was right, skiers are fucking pussies. And to the idiots that think he should hide something like that, I'd be much more comfortable hiring someone who admits their mistakes (even though there is no way he got fired on legitimate grounds, he was probably slouched over and being a general ski goon and they found it offensive and inappropriate bc management is a bunch of hard cunts like you kids) than someone who tries to lie/cover it up.

The pussification of skiers is becoming ridiculous. What happened to the days when "instructors" were just some 19 yr old goon getting drunk and high with his buddies on a volcano.

My name is Queso, I WAS JOSH'S TRAINER! Here's the problem folks, Josh is an exceptional rail skier. I have respect for that. However when you have the attitude of "I'm better than learning the fundamentals of skiing and coaching", and you're disruptive and make it difficult for me to deliver the knowledge I posses to the rest of the group, I'm going to be upset. The rest of the group was there to learn, he felt he was better than what we were learning. Also, he almost went fisticuffs with a trainer at the barn. He was already on his last leg there. For someone who "skis for Jesus" he has no respect for anyone whose not a "pro", and goes out of his way to show his lack of respect. Josh, I wish you the best in this industry, but until you change your outlook on skiing and coaching, realize that the basics need to be understood and taught, and start treating others with some base level of respect, you will go nowhere in this business. Good luck.
