lowkey considering buying a house there since I cant afford shit on the west coast, and to be closer to family. Anyone have any perspective on the town and the mountain? Also places to skate, and fish, and other fun stuff in the area.

not a lot of experience in maine but i've been to Saddleback mountain a couple times and it's dope dude. top looker's left zone is so fun

Saddleback is the best mountain in Maine, you'd just be 2 and a half hours from the nearest city, and that city is Portland, so it's small.

Give management a few years to figure out the park scene and maybe...biased opinion but loaf is the move if you choosing based on parks. OP if you are looking for something a bit less remote check out areas surrounding Farmington. Def is a vibe with the school being there and a bit more life in the summer and winter.

sugarloaf is the move for Maine skiing. Also Mary Janes slice of heaven in Farmington slaps.

the loaf has decent all mountain terrain too for the east coast, don’t sleep on bracket basin

don't know if ndye is on ns still but I'd hit him up, pretty sure he was living there this year

I live in kingfield and rangeley def has more going on that side of the mountains, especially during the summer. For skating theres the AGC at sugarloaf, and the dragons nest in farmington. Dragons nest is a pretty dogshit park that was built in 92 though and was buried under 6 feet of dirt for 25 years, theres talk of the town building a new park though.

as far as east coast goes can't really beat the skiing with having saddleback just out of town and Loaf about 30 minutes away, plus titcomb in farmington for night skiing. Saddleback's park is still kind of getting back together but they have some good features and people over there, loafs park is dank (biased lol) and definitely moving the right direction compared to a few years ago.

Was looking on Google earth and holy cow there's alot of lakes in Maine, and saltwater fishing, and cheap property? Sounds like a great place with a ton of elbow room. Also says there's tons of wild blueberries . Too bad there's no mountains, I need my mountain time but still looks like a great place to live.
