Man on the moon was good but everything besides that is trash

Was not a huge fan of the new one he did except for that one song he used house of the rising son for the backing track.

The prayer will always be one of my favorite songs ever.

agreed on both points.

wayne is better than kid cudi.

This. Both are influential but Wayne much more so. You can hear him in most of the mainstream rappers from the past decade, and many openly give him credit. I appreciate Kudi's influence but he's just okay imo, whereas Wayne has multiple classics despite all the garbage parts of his discography.

Pursuit of Happiness slaps, same with the Adventures of Moon Man and Slim, Day 'n Night, and Up up and Away.

Lil Wayne and Cudi seem like pretty different rappers, especially now. I feel like Eminem or Kanye's new stuff compares better

I’d highly recommend just starting from the beginning and just go all the way through the discography including KSG. Lots of nostalgia in MOTM 1 and 2 of just being a kid and learning to smoke weed for the first time.

As for the Wayne comparisons, it’s complete apples to oranges. Wayne is the epitome of lyrical and Cudi is the epitome of melodic rap. Both super influential in their own ways. I’d say Wayne has more raw talent but cudi is more relatable.

I have never been a big fan of Kid Cudi but Leigh Powis had a really dope segment in Grand Bizarre to "Ghost" and it goes together really well.

If we are focusing on 2000's mainstream rap here is my hit list from back in the day:

(Definitely missing a lot but kidn of threw it together.)

Andre Nickatina- My all time favorite rapper. Most people just know his single "Ayo for Yayo" but he has a long list of dope albums. "Conversation with a Devil" is his classic album for sure.

Another Bay Area classic is Mac Dre. He is most known for his Thizzle stuff but his more lyrical songs are awesome and hilarious:

Afro Man: Speaking of hilarious rap songs, if you were in High School back in 2005 this was the best shit lol

Baby Boy da Prince- Def a One Hit Wonder but "The Way I Live" is what we all bumped in 2006-2007:

Then in the late 2000's the rap game realized it got to clean, too refined. It needed to get grimy and thus the Dirty South Movement began:

Ying Yang Twins:

Lil John basically held together the whole Dirty South Movement. Maybe not the best lyricist but makes up for it for sheer over the top spectacle:

About this time EDM started to become popular as well. Pitbull was really the one that brought together Latin Influences, Crunk and House Music. A lot of people hated him but he had some dope tracks to throw on at parties:

Around the end of the 2000s people could only take so much grimy Dirty South Crunk and that is when T-Pain came on the scene. Say what you want about T-Pain but this was revolutionary when it came out and he actually used auto-tune as an art instead of a crutch. Most modern rap basically is just a copy of the sound that T-Pain and Lil Wayne did in the late 2000s:

Also shoutout to Tech N9ne. He was always kind of on the fringes of the mainstream during this time and would get thrown on every now and again at parties. Some people hated his style but he could spit verses like no one else. I remember back around 2007 he played at Rock the Bells at Red Rocks and basically stole the show.

Listen to Kids See Ghosts by Cudi and Kanye, you might just transcend so be careful

Phenomenal album. 4th Dimension is definitely the best track off it.

like others have said I feel like they’re not comparable just because their styles are sooo different like others have said cudi is more melodic where Wayne just drops bars and has arguably the best word play of most any rappers I’d say they’re both very inspirational to other artists but I’d give the edge to Wayne because of how long he’s been doing it and how many hits he has. Don’t get me wrong kid cudi has hella hits too just not as many as Wayne
