Anyone know anything about Mopeds?

I need to buy a new moped.. I want a Honda Ruckus, but cant seem to find any good websites or anything.

Anyone know anything about this subject or know what other kind of mopeds are dope?

Don't listen to the haters. I have a moped and that shit is awesome. Super nice for getting around town on. It only costs like 3 bucks to fill up the tank too...cant beat it.

 
well a Ruckus is a scooter not a moped. But they are dope..but an actual classic moped where you have to pedal it for it to start would have much more shwag...like mine :D

And ya seriously.. i could give a shit if girls at your school rode them with pink helmets ha.. like whats his name said.. quick, easy, small, and 3 bucks to fill it up.. cant beat it..

 
my brother has a rucus and its sickkkkk.

i considered purchasing it from him late last summer until i did some research.

be sure to check insurance quotes first.

then consider licensing.

if you only have your m1 it is good for 3 months, you cant have ANY alchocol at all and operate it, and there is tons of restrictions on when you can use it. (atleast in ontario).

it very quickly turned from a reasonable means of transportation to a toy.

just do your research first. what you save on gas you could quickly spend on insurance.
 
I have a tomos streetmate r it is probably the best looking moped, you can also buy them online and have them shipped. if you get a upgraded exhaust and better gears it will easily get up to 50
 
In VT you need a motorcycle license to drive a scooter (last I checked), while you need NO license of ANY sort to drive a moped. You also don't need to register it or wear a helmet (although recommended)and you can ride it (without the motor running) on bike paths.

Pretty much the most versatile thing, hence moped>scooter in this state.
 
also, theres a gang of 5 forty year old middle class dads who live down the street and they ride mopeds. they usually have a bbq or play poker or something, have a few beers, and then go ride around in leather jackets and do-rags for a while.

those guys are awesome.

 
I want one of these so bad. I have been looking on craigslist for a couple of months now and have not found anything. Any other ideas on where I can find one?
 
You really just gotta keep your eyes peeled, look at vintage motorcycle sites stuff like that, salvage yards. Me and my dad restore motorcycles, and go to swap meets so that's really the easiest way to find stuff.
