I almost wish this could happen just so I can get involved in some hopefully wilds shit while repoing it. I definitely need a new car, was planning on grabbing a suby wagon, but would be most stoked about the repo factor and cross country road trip to follow.

Post when it's gone because if not I'm down. I'll also throw in a 30rack if not more goods and some $.

I'll be heading back to the states just when phish is playing WA and around the west coast. A repo phish tour combo would be lovely.

Honestly the easiest thing to do if no key can be obtained is just rent a tow bar from uhaul for like 50 bucks, roll down there with a truck or jeep, jack the car onto the bar if needed, strap it in and drive away.

If Im involved I definitely think I'll leave a model car, maybe even a matchbox in the driveway where the OPs car was.

Idk, I want a piece of this but am probably too far away in distance and time to get in on the action. I'll monitor the threads to see what happens.

So my cop hookup told me to go for it, since she violated our verbal contract by not paying me for the last 12 months.

the plan, for those who don't get my pm, just so you can join in on the fun of knowing:

1) I send the vehicle title and key to one of the guys who volunteered

2) I include a letter saying I transfer the ownership of the car and broken contract to the new guy

3) new guy takes the car and two options occur

3a) POS car doesn't run, guy gets like $200 in scrap or whatever and good times ensue.

3b) car is sweet, guy drives around and gets all the ladies, good times ensue.

4) NS is the bomb dot com

Does anyone know if I'm legally allowed to go take my car back if they only paid a small amount of what is due?

btw I actually sold the car for $1600 total, and gave her a bill of sale that said she can register the vehicle in Washington, while the title will remain in my name until full payment is made. what did i do to myself

If you made a contract of $1600 the sale can only actually take place when you get the full 1600 or mutually agree that the deal has taken place and all ends are met. Meaning she has payed you an agreed amount. If she does not pay you this agreed amount the deal has not taken place and you can give her the money back (what ever she gave you if you got any). You have to give back her money if she gave you any.

Get your car back, and call up a lawyer for free consulting if you have any questions. Many times you can call up a lawyer and ask him these sort of things and they should be able to guide you in the correct direction.

Would be such a good time. Also would turn into the party bus heading coast to coast if anyone wants to go on a road trip. Maybe swing by OPs house, party, build OP a new rail in thanks for said car, party, then continue the party bus eastward.

Find out halfway across the country that it wasn't actually OP's car and we're just road tripping in a stolen car.

Maybe hit some preseason rail jams in random states. Idk just thoughts.

Honestly I could see me getting myself into trouble but if I made it across safely I think it would be pretty solid. And def down for the attempt.

this all got so complicated with so many components of stealing the car amidst reading through the posts haha. plot twist: this all goes down, you get there but they really did strip it for parts to sell for some extra cash, tires are flat but somehow load it on a trailer and still get away, get back to your nest, pop the hood, see absolutely nothing and realize the car has legitimately been stripped for pretty much everything and youre stuck with some car with flat tires and an interior.

They could not be using the car at all or rarely and still refuse to give it up and would just park it so that its impossible to tow.

You want it towed pronto I'd call local tow companies and negotiate something they'll let it sit in their yard for little to no charge if you pay upfront for the tow.
