I will be in Zermatt tomorrow (May 8th) and will be staying there for 3 days. Im on a backpacking trip with a friend, who had to take a last minute flight out for an interview. In the meantime I was hoping to get some skiing in at Zermatt.

Anyone from the area have any advice or info I should know?

I was not planning on skiing here so I have no equipment other than my ski jacket. No pants, gloves, goggles, hat, or skis and boots.

If you know where to get some cheap beer or would be willing to let me borrow some stuff in exchange for some beer, that would be awesome.

Cheers!

Check out TGR if you haven't . You will probably find someone that is willing to loan you some stuff in exchange for beer.

Have fun skiing som spring pow :)

I arrived this afternoon. still looking for some stuff, mainly some pants, a hat, gloves, and some goggles. I can rent ski gear no problem but don't want to buy all that other stuff

Let me know if you can help

And also, copy/paste your stuff in Hook-up and write it in the "Snow for the Euros" thread istead, you should get more response that way.

The Brown Cow on the main street does a good burger and a cheap pint. Check out the crazy keyboard playing midget in GramPi's across the road when you are done. There is a little bar just down towards the station (from Brown Cow/Grampis) on the left hand side, if you hit the tobak you've gone too far, you have to go down some steps but the barman is a pretty cool Greek dude. The piano playing midget seems to spend his break there.

Dude, check how long the account has been active. Lurker for ages, thought I better make an account incase I could ever contribute anything even semi-useful.
